"Anna?"

A confused but familiar voice called my name, followed by snapping of a set of fingers which suddenly pulled me back to reality.

"Huh?" I blinked and found Alexander right ahead of me, his head tilted to a side as he tried to understand what world I was lost in.

The kiss!

I bit my tongue.

Did I just hallucinate about kissing him?

My heart began beating faster as the crimson made its way to my cheeks.

How much more embarrassing could it be? My mind raced through all kinds of worst-case scenarios and what would have happened if he had even the tiniest idea of what was going on in my head.

"Is... everything alright?" He asked again and I nodded violently, wanting to break into a run.

His lips parted as he was about to say something more but was interrupted by a sound of buzz. He seemed surprised and so was I by the sight of his phone's screen glowing on the bed.

"We got a network," he announced before picking it up from the bed and answering.

I waited silently, crossing my fingers. Anything to get out of that room and hide myself for at least a whole day.

"What?" He snapped as soon as he picked it up. "What do you mean, Liz?" There was a long pause before he continued. "I'm stuck in a damn hotel, for god's sake." Another pause. "Hell with you."

"What happened?" I asked once he flung the phone on the couch.

"Devil's luck," he replied. "The situation isn't very well outside and we probably aren't getting any help until the storm clears up."

"What do you mean?"

My eyes widened in surprise. "Why don't you try calling at the reception?"

"I don't have the number, plus, I don't think there would be anyone at the desk at this hour," he said and looked at the clock which showed eleven.

"So are we gonna rot in here?"

"Probably worse."

"What do you mean worse?"

"I mean"- He was interrupted by a loud smack on the door. That moment of silent chaos between us was broken by a new ray of hope.

Did someone finally find us? 

My eyes glimmered with hope and I began to jump towards it to answer, only to be stopped as someone grabbed me and pinned me to the wall.

"What are you trying to do?"

"Hush it, angel," he whispered, placing his hand over my mouth to stop me from speaking as if stoning me to the wall wasn't enough.

He seemed to have lost some brain cells. The help was literally on the door to save us from rotting and in the worst case, eating each other out of hunger.

I fidgeted under his grip. He needed to stop pinning me to the wall, and then leaving me in a phase of utter confusion.

I managed to break my arm free and aimed for his gut while he easily blocked it by clutching my arm and pinning it above my head.
