A week had passed since that conversation in the club. Kazuha didn't talk about it anymore, and the girls didn't make any effort to develop the topic further. It was clear to them that Kazuha had spoken out, told Yunjin everything she had been saving up for two years. And they even noticed that Kazuha became more cheerful after that. It was clear that a burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She didn't touch on the topic with Yunjin anymore. She was in a good mood more often. As if she had returned again. The old Kazuha, who had once disappeared, had appeared again. But deep down, they still understood that she was also worried about Yunjin after everything she had said.
Everything was as usual at school. Students left notes on their desks, classmates glanced at her during lessons. The teachers noticed that the girl's productivity had increased in such a short time. Kazuha already knew all the subjects perfectly well and was often simply lazy in studying. Now she studied hard. She even attended all the physical education classes.
The abrasions on her face and arms had already healed. There were still talks about the fight at school. Many condemned Ryujin, and some blamed Kazuha, because their friends were now suspended from classes because of her. But no one dared to say a word in her direction. After all, while her friends could see her mental improvement, others still saw her as cold and indifferent. This played into Kazuha's hands.
Yunjin never showed up at school. It was as if she had disappeared again. At first, Kazuha was worried, because no matter what anyone said, they had been close for 15 years and she was worried. But Hyunjin made it clear that she was fine and just sick. True, it was hard to believe. Kazuha reassured herself that if something bad had happened to Yunjin, Hyunjin would have attacked her first, and since that hadn't happened, there was nothing to worry about.
Sakura went to the teachers' room at the request of the homeroom teacher. The girl didn't know why she had been called, because nothing of the sort had happened. The fight had already been sorted out, her grades were quite high, there were almost no absences, and they had just talked about them recently. Sakura wasn't afraid, but she was still a bit worried.
"Sakura," she met the woman right at the entrance, and Chaewon was standing next to her.
"Chaewon?" Sakura was surprised, but hugged her friend tightly. She was supposed to be back only in two days. "Are you back?"
"Girls, talk later," the head teacher interrupted them, becoming invisible to friends for a few seconds. "Chaewon, you haven't missed that much, so don't worry too much. Teacher Im will give you the materials you need, you'll catch up quickly," she nodded towards the math teacher's desk, hinting to the girl to go there. "Sakura, come with me."
They walked to the head teacher's desk. She quickly typed something into her computer and began to read it carefully, but not out loud. This made Sakura tense up. Moreover, she had no idea what the head teacher wanted from her. She went over all her possible mistakes in her head, but found nothing.
"Did I do something?" Sakura asked.
"Tell me, don't lie, do you have problems at home?" the woman asked, folding her hands on the table. "Are your parents having problems with their work?"
"What?" the girl was surprised. "No. Everything is fine. What?"
"Your parents haven't paid for the second semester. Did you know that?"
"Well, it's still a long way off. They said they'd pay a couple of weeks before it started. And you agreed, didn't you?"
"That's not the problem, Sakura," the woman sighed. "They have waived tuition fees for this semester as well."
