13 The Fox Kings New Queen

With Tyson and Mason having excused themselves I immediately knew what they were trying to do and honestly I cant complain I have already pissed off Mary and thus her mates so their is no way I'm chickening out now

Lucas seems to notice the boys have left also and their is a slight change in his demeaner almost like he physically relaxed for the first time since having met him 

'Being a king must be a pretty demanding job poor Lucas must not get to truly relax a whole lot' I feel myself worrying over my new mate and as I'm thinking up ideas to help him relax I seemingly get lost in my own world as I am snapped out of my thought by the sound of Lucas calling my name and shaking my shoulders with a rather worried look on his face 

"Are you alright Rose? I called you a lot of times and you would not respond" He says in an almost frantic voice before taking a deep breath and seemingly calming himself down before adding "I was worried about you" 

I was pretty taken aback by his concern tho I do tend to get lost in my thoughts quite a lot Tyson and Mason have long gotten used to it so I didn't think about how it might have seemed strange to Lucas "I'm sorry I tend to do that a lot when I'm thinking about something" I say as I give him a smile and take his hand and give it a little reassuring squeeze 

Lucas returned the smile with a sweet smile of his own "If your not ready to mate I understand. You and the cubs wellbeing is all that matters to me right now" Lucas says with genuine concern in his eyes 

His genuine care almost had me tearing up for as short a time as I have known him I can already tell he really cares about my health and wellbeing 

I wrapped my arms around his neck in a soft embrace and I feel his arms snake around my waist as I nuzzle into his chest to feel his warmth and comfort as I fight to hold back tears tho I would like to blame the pregnancy hormones I dont think I have ever felt so genuinely cared about in all my life he almost has a soothing aura around him that calms all my nerves and makes me feel the safest I have felt since entering this world or even in my old world 'I never felt my parents love for me and if this is what it was meant to feel like I could never have happily left my world the way I did I mean I feel a strong need to morn the loss of something that I never even had in the first place'  

I feel my body stiffen up as my grip on Lucas gets tighter and for the first time since entering this world I let myself cry all the build up strength and the resolve to be brave and all the smiles I put on to pretend to myself that I was happy in this world where if I said one wrong thing to the protagonist me and my family would be killed on the spot and the only thing I can do about it is take as many mates as possible I felt all of it just wash away in a river of tears as Lucas pats my back and whispers that everything will be aright

I dont know how long I cried but at some point I must have passed out due to exhaustion as I woke up in the soft bed covered in a warm hide when I turned my head to look out of the window the sun was setting as I felt the sting in my eyes as I looked around the room and spotted Mason and Tyson at the entrance talking to Lucas in hushed voices 

I sat up and with a horse voice I got out "I'm ok" as everyone's eyes dart to where I was sitting 

My mates were around me in seconds looking me over making sure their was no trace of sadness left in my body and their really wasn't I had cried for a many number of things but after letting all my feelings out I finally felt at peace with everything

Mason was the first to speak up anxiety evident as his ears were drooped and his tail was almost entirely between his legs " Are you sure your ok flower? You cried a lot so you must have felt really sad" Mason says with an almost whimper in his voice 

His sad demeaner breaks my heart 'I should do well to remember that all my mates love me a great deal' I nod to myself in the silent promise as I take Masons hand cupping it with mine "I know it is hard to believe but I cried out all my sad feelings and I feel much better" 

"I'm glad your ok If you ever need to talk we are always going to be here for you" Tyson says with the resolve to follow through plain on his face

I feel a fluffy tail wrap around my waist as I turn to look at the culprit "I know I'm new to your family and you might not be able to trust me as much as the others but I'm here too if you ever need it I will drop everything even my title if it makes you happy" Lucas says with a reassuring smile pressed on his lips

I could almost cry again with how loved everyone is making me feel but I wont 'I'm happy truly happy and I wont ever let myself take that for granted' 

I pull everyone into a hug as I let out a giggle "I love you all so much" 

With that situation resolved and everyone feeling a bit better Lucas filled me in on the guys talk while we ate some dinner 

The boys had quite a long chat together and between the three of them they ultimately decided that I am to mate with Lucas once and only to get his mark and the protection that comes with it and then I wont mate with anyone else even my current mates until I have had my pups and am fully recovered according to them I need at least 2 weeks to recover even with the emerald that I will have after giving birth to speed up recovery 

Their decision seems reasonable and my back is starting to get really sore from lugging around my pups everywhere I go so it actually sounds like a nice break from the constant onslaught of sexy men

After me and Lucas had mated I saw his mark right on my heart it was a white fox curled up asleep with a small pink crown above it I had not actually realised that royalty had such a difference with the mate mark but it makes sense seeing as not everyone even if a noble can be a king 

I was awoken the next morning by a loud commotion from out in the hallway I sit up to see only Tyson and Mason with me "Is Lucas busy with his duty's? why is it so loud this morning?" I ask tilting my head slightly to the side in confusion 

Tyson answered me while pulling me to his lap "Lucas has decided we will hold a banquet to celebrate the new queen and most of the kingdom as well as the peacock royal family will be their so their is a lot to prepare if he wants to have it tonight" 

I nod along in understanding until I hear the very last word "Tonight? Why do we need to have it tonight?" I ask in question 

Mason smiles at me with twitching ears and a wagging tail "Because he is worried you will give birth soon and he dose not want you to have to go through the dumb palace traditions while your still recovering so he is doing it now" He says almost bouncing on the spot in excitement

"Well that makes sense" I nod in understanding and smile at the thoughtfulness of all my mates 

I hear someone calling at the door and Tyson gets up to see who it is I hear some quiet chatter before Tyson comes back with a plate full of delicious looking fruits and handing it to me with a smirk "Apparently your sweet new mate is worried about your health and says to make sure you eat enough" Tyson says with a very teasing tone

I laugh at his antics as I dig in to my tropical feast "Was that him?" I say mouth half full 

Tyson chuckles giving my back a slight pat "Sadly for you it was a guard delivering it for him. He is very busy making sure it is absolutely perfect for his new queen" Tyson seems to scoff at the last bit "His words not mine" He says in almost uncontrollable laughter
