MIA

As the bitter liquid was flowing inside my body, my whole tiredness was disappearing and the view of sunset through the glass window of my cabin gave me peace.

I was thinking about Bua and Zahir. I still remember that terrible day which was seven years ago and memories of that day still haunt me. The day when I lost everything, when my heart broke and when I lost trust in any person, in any relation and in this world also. But still I don't hate bua and Zahir. I just can't... How could I, because when little Maya had no place to live, no food to eat and no one to love her. That time bua gave me a place in her house, gave me food to eat, she and Zahir loved me  just like their own daughter and sister. So, I'm not angry with them, I'm just disappointed and hurt.

I was thinking about my past when my phone rang and broke the chain of my thoughts. It was an unknown number nevertheless I picked it up.

"Hello!"

"Hello, Am i speaking to Maya Rathore."

"Yes,"

" Hello Maya, I'm Parvej Ahuja, chairman of Ahuja enterprises."

"How can I help you, Mr Ahuja"

"Umm Maya, I will get straight to the point. I have something which belongs to you only and I've had this for years not it's time that I give it back to you."

"What is that? Mr Ahuja."

"Actually it would be better if we meet and talk."

"Don't mind me Mr Ahuja, but how can I trust you?"

"I'll send you a pic. See it and decide for yourself."

And he cut the call. Within a second my phone rang with notification from Mr Ahuja, i opened it and saw there was a picture of Mr Ahuja and my grandfather sitting together on a bench and I was in my grandfather's lap. I don't remember anything about this picture, because I would be four or five at that time. Again a message popped up on my screen from him.

"Now if you trust me, come to the xxx hotel this Tuesday at 1 p.m. sharp."

Should I go or not, but how he knows my grandfather and what he has which is mine. Maybe I should go and check it myself.

Third person's pov

Mia got down from the car and started walking towards the hotel. She entered the hotel and a man in three-piece black suit came, greeted her and took her to a cabin.

She entered the cabin, and saw that Mr Ahuja was sitting on a chair and a lawyer was also present there.

"Good afternoon, Mr Ahuja and Mr-"

"Vikram Singh" that man completed her sentence.

"Very good afternoon Maya, have a seat and what would you like to have, cold or hot?" Mr Ahuja asked Maya.

"No, thank you Mr Ahuja, I'm good. Just come to the point, how do you know my dadu (grandfather) and what do you have which is mine?" She questioned him.

"Okay Maya, as you want, I will directly come to the point. So let's start from the beginning." He paused and took a deep breath.

" Your grandfather was my childhood best friend. Our bond was so strong, We always stood by each other's side in every situation. The picture I sent you was from the day when he brought you to meet me for the first time. You might be four or five at that time. Then I met you again when your grandfather was on the hospital bed taking his last breath. I went to meet him and that time he gave me some papers." He paused, looked at the lawyer and the lawyer handed him some papers. He kept those papers on the table in front of Maya.

"These are his property papers. According to his will, you are the only heir of his all properties and business. After you turn twenty five, everything will legally transfer to your name. And if something happens to you in the meantime, everything will go to the charity. He didn't want to give your parents a penny after what they did to you. But he was also scared that in jealousy or anger, someone could harm you, so you can't take anything. That was the reason he handed me these papers and told me to give it to you when the right time comes." He told her everything which was a secret for many years.

Maya was stunned with this new information. The business, the money, the house and the properties which were occupied by her ungrateful parents, are actually hers . Her Dadu gave everything to her. He was the best person in her life. He was the one who loved her, took care of her, protected her after her parents left her alone.

"You were living with your bua after his death, so i didn't care much about it. And when you turned twenty five, i went to your bua house to give you your belongings but there i got to know that you left them six years ago and no one knows where you are. I've been looking for you for so long. I was so worried for you and thought I was  irresponsible, because I didn't look after you in those years. But then i met you at Zahir's wedding and my hope shines. So I got your mobile number from Zahir and contacted you." He completed his story and gave her a big smile.

"So here is the papers of your gift from your dadu, but there is a condition. So according to his will everything will legally transfer to you after you get married to the person of my choice."

MIA

"But there is a condition. So according to his will everything will legally transfer to you after you get married to the person of my choice." I was checking the papers when he threw this bomb at me.

"WHAT!!! Are you crazy, what nonsense is this?" I snapped at him.

What the fuck is this. Dadu clearly knew I didn't want to get married, neither then nor now.

I'm not greedy for his business and property, i earn more than enough, but this was my dadu's last wish and all these things contain his memories, his hardwork and his love for me. I know my parents are just wasting his hardwork, the business which my dadu built through his hardwork, is in loss now. But I have to marry someone before transferring everything to my name.

"This is not nonsense Maya, this is the truth and you have to marry the person, i choose for you." He spoke directly looking in my eyes.

"And who have you chosen for me, Mr Ahuja." I asked him getting irritated with this topic.

" The ceo of Ahuja Enterprises and my grandson, Ekam Ahuja."
