Writers POV
Emily gracefully awoke from her slumber. The sun shining through the window, rays reflecting on her face. She slowly rubbed her eyes and yawned. It was 7am and a Monday in September. Which meant only one thing, it was time to get ready for her first day of Year 11. She was an interesting soul and just as intelligent. Emily didn't really need to study, but she did so she felt a little more confident about achieving the best results. This year, she would make a timetable for studying after school hours, allocating equal time for all 11 subjects.
She dressed in her uniform which consisted of a burgundy blazer, matching tie, white shirt and black pants/skirt. Emily decided for pants this year, it was time for a change. She made a full english breakfast for herself and locked up the house as she left for school. It was a brisk 20 minute walk through a public woodland walkway that started just outside of the housing estate. Using her phone to message her best friends, telling them she would be seeing them soon and her parents to notify them that she had left the house. Hailee and Eric Witherspoon, her parents were world renowned lawyers who were successful in making their work known across the globe. Although away on business often, they still made time for their little girl especially when she needed it and the odd surprise. They had a firm in the town centre that was run by their assistants and other lawyers who worked at the firm.
Emily bopped her head to the music in her ears and breathed in deeply some fresh woodland air. It was relaxing as she made her way along the path. Thinking about what her timetable of lessons would look like this year. She would collect it at reception and then meet her friends so they could discuss which lessons they had together. As she made her way through the last section, she had a road to cross, looking left and right before she took a step. Lucky she did, as a dangerously close car zoomed past her and into the staff entrance. She'd never seen that car before but wow, it was an amazing model. The Mercedes AMG GTR Coupé in Red too, someone had good taste she thought.
She grabbed her timetable from the reception table and saw that she started with IT, Mathematics, break, Science and English, Lunch, finally French and P.E. Great, she sighed, Mondays. Making her way to class she saw her besties, Misbah and Fatima. They waved and she quickly walked over. They hugged and laughed, it had been ages since they had seen each other even though they had made plans over the summer holidays. Their timetables looked different to hers but they all had Math and P.E together today. She would see them in an hour after IT for her and English for her friends.
IT would be a dream, only because she was continuing the coursework from last year. Something about spreadsheets and festival planning with auto formulae. She kept the music going on a lower volume and continued working on this. The teacher even complimented her work. Emily smiled as she knew the teacher never praised anybody's performance. Time flew and Emily was making her way to Maths class already. She hustled over to the building across from IT and climbed a set of stairs before weaving herself through the bustle of students trying to get to their next lesson. In record time, she made it down the hallway and knocked thrice on the door. She stood and waiting, hearing heels click just behind the door, opening suddenly. Her mouth ajar, as she viewed the beauty in front of her. "You'll catch a fly if you leave it too long" the voice said. "S-Sorry Miss?" Emily spoke as she walked into the classroom and took the middle seat in the middle row, surely to catch the teachers attention. "Miss Zara Harrison" she spoke, but Miss Harrison to you. It's my first day here and I've had wonderful experience with the new year 7's who weren't rowdy at all. Emily hears some sarcasm in her voice. She chuckled and took out her stationary, placing it neatly on the desk. Folding her arms over and looking at the screen where a timer stood counting down to when the class began. Students started to fill in the classroom and her friends walked in too. They took a seat at either side of her and smiled.
Miss Harrison walked over and shut the door, the class began and on fractions too. Emily knew all this, she instead set her focus on to her new teacher. Miss Harrison, her features intrigued Emily. She had a round face with below shoulder length dark brown hair. Her long, thin nose sat between a pair of dark brown eyes. Her pupils large having shown interest in what she was teaching. Above her catlike eyes were well-shaped eyebrows which defined the rest of her facial features. To finish with, she had small lips which danced as they voiced her work to the class. She had high cheekbones and an evenly sharp jaw. Her head sat on a small body frame and long toned legs that stood on black chunk-heeled boots. She was clad in a skin-tight black jeans and a baby pink and black knee length dress that hugged her curves. Subtle make-up on her face and her hair was loosely curled, smooth and silky as it glimmered against the lights.
Emily dazed out of her trance, as the bell rang, she silently thanked Jesus that she didn't get into any trouble, her friends smiled and talked on the way out. "Em, what happened in there? You were goners!" Joked Misbah. "Yeah Em, seems like math isn't the only thing that caught your attention, low key Miss Harrison has too, Fatima chimed in. Emily stayed quiet but blushed as they exited the building for their break.
