"Can you marry him ?"

Amara choked on her water, coughing and sputtering. Meli immediately came and patted her one the back to try and help.

"I'm sorry, what ?" The goddess of curiosity croaked out.

"Mr. Hermes," Meli said. "Can you marry him ?"

Amara blinked. "You want me to marry Hermes ? Why is that ?"

Meli nodded. "He was very nice."

Amara chuckled lightly. Leave it to her little sister to give the most innocent reason to marry someone. It was rather endearing though.

Just as seeing Hermes with Meli had been. He was so good with her. So patient. It made Amara long to have her own children with Hermes. They weren't too young. Their marriage wasn't too recent and even if it were, they were married ! They could do whatever they wanted.

But having children meant telling people about them. And while they both wanted that, it also scared them. Especially Amara. She didn't know what her father would do.

But maybe there was a bright side to being forced up to Olympus. It would give her and her husband an excuse to finally reveal the true nature of their relationship.

"So, can you ?"

Amara smiled at het sister. "Maybe. We shall have to wait and see."

That made Meli smile brightly. But that smile vanished as soon as it appeared. The bell rang. The one that told them winter was over.

The sisters shared a look. The older's was just defeated while the younger clung to her tightly. Amara picked Melinoe up and slowly carried her towards where their parents and brother would be waiting.

"Thank you, Zagreus," she heard her mother say. "Where's Meli ?"

"Here," Amara said quietly, making her presence known. Meli only clung to her tighter. "Mel..."

"No," the girl cried.

"Meli, you have to say goodbye," Amara tried again.

Melinoe stubbornly kept clinging to her older sister. The young goddess looked at her parents over her sister's shoulders, lost as to what she should do.

Hades and Persephone shared a look which ended with, Hades approaching his daughters. "Meli." He tried to get her out of Amara's arms and into his own. She wouldn't budge though. "My dear."

"If you really are one of the most powerful gods, then she wouldn't have to go," Meli cried, nuzzling her face into her sister's neck. "Mara wouldn't have to go."

Hades looked like he had just been slapped. "Meli..." Amara spoke gently. "Meli, it's not father's fault. He did everything he could."

"Your father is more powerful than you know," Persephone agreed, arriving on their other side and stroking her youngest daughter's hair. "But he is also just. What do we say ?"

When Melinoe didn't answer the goddess turned to her oldest. Amara sighed, "The two most powerful warriors are patience and time."

"Exactly."
