I had been awake for God knows how long, but I was still in bed, watching Elias lazily as he remained awake, as well.

He brushed my hair out of my face, keeping his eyes on mine as he ran his fingers along my forehead and nose.

"Good morning," he said, smirking. "You awake there?"

"Partly," I murmured. "I'm in heaven."

He just chuckled. "I can tell."

He remained in place until he pushed my hair away from my face. "What do you want to do today?"

I shuffled over to him and wrapped my arms around him, breathing softly as I set my head against his neck. "Mine."

I felt his eyes on me. "Someone's clingy today."

"You're contagious," I told him.

He just chuckled.

We remained like this for a while, but I didn't mind it. I was so tired.

But there was so much more to him that I wanted to learn.

"We can go out tonight," Elias said.

I sighed and pushed myself up, gazing down at him as his smile titled. "Can't."

"Why?" he said.

"I have to kill someone tonight," I told him.

"I love how that's such a normal sentence for you."

I smiled innocently.

He propped himself up with me, eyes glowing dangerously. "Didn't I tell you that you're not going back?"

"I'm not," I replied, hovering my face over his. "To the castle."

His eyes flickered to mine, and I felt his breath heating my cheeks. "I said you're not going back, period."

I kept my face to his. "Then who can I kill? I need my high."

He tipped his head to the side. "I can give you a high."

"I want to kill someone," I whispered, smile cracking across my face, and I felt my eyes glow. "I want to stab someone."

He just threw me under him, making me yelp when he held me down. "And? Why would I allow that?"

I giggled. "Admit it, you want to kill someone, too."

He watched me curiously and tipped his head to the side. "Who would I kill?"

"There's a lot of bad boys out there, Elias," I reminded him. "Maybe we could kill someone together."

He smirked. "You drive a hard bargain, my princess."

I just watched him. "You have to answer a question of mine first."

He gazed down at me.

"Who is Elias?" I wondered. "Truly? It seems like you're from a different area, a different time almost. You know all these things about pills and tape. You have a mask that seems almost impossible to create. Where are you from, Elias?"

He kept his eyes to mine. "That's classified, princess."

"Why?" I wondered innocently. "I am yours now, so you can entrust on me."

"Yes," he answered, chuckling, "but then where's the suspense? You will know when I want you to know." His eyes locked on mine. "I have to keep you on your toes, don't I?"

He must've been from heaven, then. Because he had all these tools that didn't exist.

Yeah, he must've. And heaven always changed fast, so that explained it.

"Why do I have to be on my toes?" I wondered.

"Because you like being on your toes." He inched his face closer, lips hovering over mine. "Don't you?"

I lowered my lashes, feeling his breath dust my skin.

Just a little closer. Just an inch.

But he kept his position. "How else will you be satisfied, my princess?"

And he pulled himself off me, making my breath shake more when my skin flooded with cold.

And he walked away.

I stared at the ceiling, gasping as adrenaline coursed through my veins.

How did he keep doing that?
