Kuch bhi nahi Jab darmayaan
Phir kyun hai dil, tere hi khwaab bunta
Chaha ki de, tujhko bhula

Par yeh bhi mumkin ho na sakaa...
Kya hai yeh maamla, Janu na
Main Janu na
Dil sambhal ja zara
Phir mohabbat karne chala hai tu

After Karan showed up I just couldn't stay there any longer. Looking at him, I was hit with the realization that the girl I couldn't get out of my head was his sister.

I couldn't stay knowing that by each passing second, she was getting closer to being someone's wife.

I couldn't stay knowing I won't be the person getting to hold her when I just had a glimpse of what it was like to have her in my arms.

I just couldn't .

After a while, everybody gathered where the function was being held. They didn't have a huge family. Karan only had one uncle from his dad's side and an aunt from mom's side. Some of their family friends were present as well.

Karan's fiancé, Tanya and her family were also present. Their marriage was fixed ever since they turned 18 but Ratan uncle wanted Niyati to get married first.

Tanya's brother, Abhimaan, was also a close friend of karan and me. Since their fathers were friends they both grew up together. In school Karan would always tell me about him. Later, after school, he joined us when we met up once. Him and I hit it off really well. So all three of us were pretty close.

He was currently standing along with Karan and Tanya, gathering around Niyati who was sitting on a couch, with her feet perched upon a stool, in front of a beautiful backdrop adorned with sunflowers and daisies.

"Per tumne thik nahi kiya mere sang, Niyati"
(But you did me wrong, Niyati)

I heard Abhimaan say, as I approached them. A flirty smirk plastered on his face. Niyati giggled in response.

"What happened?" I asked, as I bro hugged Abhi, while nodding at Tanya.

"She promised to marry me and look at her now. Huh!" He mockingly glared at her.

"What?!"

I was shocked. Shocked by what he said and shocked by the sudden feeling of jealousy that I was experiencing.

"Hogya aapka? Kar liya embarrass ki aur bacha hai?"
(Are you done? Have you embarrassed me enough or there's room for more?)

Niyati said, rolling her eyes.

"I was 8 when I promised that."

She explained, looking at me.
