Stress was all that was happening around the manor today.

From the minute I had been woken up by my father, I had been rushed into everything I was meant to do. The first thing was to eat my breakfast quickly in order to have as much time as possible to get ready. My parents told me and my siblings that their meeting had turned into a much larger thing than had been planned. No longer was it a normal meeting we had all expected, it was now a full on holiday party.

Every single room in the manor had been cleaned by either my family or house elves in the past four hours. My siblings and I had taken the longest with the rooms we were assigned since we weren't allowed to use magic like everyone else. After the cleaning part of the day was done, I had found the house elves, Poppy and Misty, in the kitchen preparing for tonight's dinner. Outside in the foyer, my mother was busy decorating for the festivities, while my father tried his best to help.

"Father?" I asked as I came up behind him.

He turned around to face me with a box of decorations in his hand, "Yes Y/n?"

"I was wondering what else I need to do now since the rooms are all clean?"

Handing my mother something from the box he thought for a moment before answering, "There is...could you clear all the snow from the doors to the gate?"

My jaw dropped in outrage. How was I supposed to do that in so little time and on my own?

My father noticed my expression which caused him to start laughing a little, "There's a pale blue potion that clears all snow almost instantly. I think it's in the closet over there." He said, nodding in the direction of the closet near our front door. Continuing he added, "Add a few drops to the front steps and watch it work. And do not stand in any snow when you do, it'll burn you."

"Also, if you can be a dear, Y/n," my mother said as she turned around, lowering her wand, "Can you spray the flowers outside with the green potion, please?"

I nodded my head then made my way to the closet. Once I opened it, I noticed a few coats hanging up, with a few boxes at the top. Looking down, I found multiple potions on the shelf. Picking up the ones I thought were right, I held them up for my father to see. He looked at them for a moment before nodding in approval.

Before closing the closet, I took out one of my sweaters and put it on quickly.

Opening the entrance door, I was met with a gush of cold air. Taking a step out into the porch, I saw that only specks of snow were on the dark wood, most of it being completely bare. The rest of the front was covered in snow, likely deep enough to cover your entire foot. As I got to the edge of the porch where the steps usually would be seen, I knelt down and took off the dropper on the potion.

Some of the potion was already inside the dropper, so I decided to just use what was in there. Taking the dropper I hovered it over the snow and let the drops fall. The potion took a second before it started working its magic.

The snow started to dissipate, a pale blue almost flame like effect covering the snow it was consuming. What had started as a small hole left in the snow, soon turned into a wildfire over the yard. Flames of blue made its way over the covered lawn like waves crashing onto a shore. It only took minutes before the entire front yard of the manor was back to how it was before. The grass was as green as it would be in spring, no longer showing any signs of winter.

Stepping down onto the lawn, I turned to face the wilted flower beds. Using the spray in my hand, I sprayed each plant three times before moving onto the next one. Once I finished all of them, I turned back to the first one I had done. The flowers were no longer wilted and were now in full bloom. Seeing them so beautiful and bright, a wave of calmness washed over me, taking over the stress I had been feeling all morning. I smiled softly before walking back inside the manor.
