Year 1 - Chapter 6

Today was the day we finally got to go home after many months away at Hogwarts. Yesterday, had been our last day of classes meaning today was technically our first day of break. My friends and I had hung out the whole day after we left our classes, making use of the time we had. We had decided to try and hang out at least once during break, writing letters to each other to organize it. So far, we had agreed that we would either go to Astrid's house or Letty's. This was because they were pureblood meaning Adrian's parents, Caroline's dad and my parents wouldn't say no. Also, they said their parents would probably not mind having us all there.

I had been the first one from my room to get ready so right now we were waiting for Caroline since she was the last to get in the shower. We had all packed the night before as we talked and sang to songs. Brooke had a muggle record player she had brought and she had introduced us to muggle music. Hours had gone by last night with us basically having a karaoke session.

A couple minutes passed before Caroline came out of the bathroom, ready to leave. I grabbed my stuff including my cat Porter, the rest of their girls also grabbing their stuff and pets. Letty was trying to get a hold of her own white and gray cat, who wouldn't let herself get picked up.

"I swear this cat is so stupid!" Letty exclaimed.

Caroline and I giggled at what was happening before us, meanwhile Brooke was trying her hardest to help our friend. Eventually, the cat leapt into Brooke's arms, making its owner even more annoyed.

Once the whole cat situation concluded, we headed down the stairs and into the common room. Only Blake was waiting on one of the couches, Joshua and Adrian weren't seen anywhere in the common room. Blake noticed us and got up from his spot, making his way towards us.

"Good morning to my favorite ladies! You all ready to go back home?"

Letty dramatically sighed, pretending to faint onto Blake,"Ughhh yes! I'm so done with this place already!"

Blake chuckled at her before helping her regain her stance.

"I'm quite happy to go home too. I need to get some different books and a few new records to bring back after break." Brooke spoke.

I turned to Caroline and asked her "What about you Care Bear?" This was the name she would only let me or Josh call her.

She took a sigh before responding "To be completely honest I don't really know. I'm happy I get to see my sister again but I'm not exactly jumping to see my dad." I nodded to her and gave her sympathetic smile. She had told me about the complicated relationship she had with her dad. According to her, when her mom was still around her dad was her second favorite person. Now, that had all changed.

Blake cleared his throat before talking again, "Well we should start heading down to the station. Josh and Adrian got a head start so they can find compartments for all of us."

Me and the rest of the girls nodded. Together, we all made our way through the halls of Hogwarts, on our way to the station.

Awhile had passed since we had left the castle, now the group was getting on the Hogwarts Express. Joshua and Adrian were able to find two compartments that were completely empty, which the group would split. I got into a compartment with Caroline, Astrid, Adrian, Cedric, and Oliver. Meanwhile, my brothers, Letty, Brooke and the Weasley twins went in the other compartment.

The first part of the ride, the six of us talked more about our breaks along with other random topics that would come up. Topics such as Quidditch, classes and even food had come up eventually. Around the two hour mark in our train trip, one by one people began to fall asleep. First had been Astrid, then Adrian, then Oliver and Cedric. So, at the moment, Caroline and I were the only ones awake.
