~Kaden~
I fumble with the tie, trying to get it perfect, but it keeps coming out too long.
"Need a hand?" Aqua's reflection appears behind mine.
I sigh. "Yeah, thanks."
She smiles, stepping around me to stand between me and the mirror. I stand still as she makes my tie and as she takes a step closer to me, tilting her head back.
"I think we look the part, don't you?" She purrs.
I remain quiet as she brings her lips to mine. This time I don't kiss her back since it doesn't feel right and has no meaning. I am in love with someone else. Someone I've only met once but dream about mostly every night in my visions.
Aqua pulls away, the pain clearly etched onto her flawless face. "Oh come on Kaden, don't tell me you're still in love with a girl you've never really met before, besides in your dreams?"
"Visions," I correct. "And I have met her before. Years ago."
"Precisely. Years ago. She could be long dead by now."
"Says the girl who's seen her recently."
Her face pales. "Did Marcus read my mind again?"
"No, not that I know of."
"So you followed me that day?"
"Not necessarily me."
Her eyes go dark which is not a good sign. Aqua can be temperamental. "You know she's part of the IE. She's being trained to kill us."
I shake my head. Surprised and also slightly upset. "It can't be. Why would she join them?"
"Because she hates us," Aqua spits out through clenched teeth.
"But she's different," I insist.
Aqua touches my arm lightly, causing me to flinch. "In your dream, she may be, but in reality, she hunts us."
"They're not dreams," I yell, angry. "They're visions that show the future." Tears are now stinging at the side of my eyes and I quickly blink them away hoping Aqua hadn't noticed them, but well that's quite impossible when it comes to her.
"Keep your tears to yourself," she says quietly as she lifts her hands to absorb the tears on my face. "The Kaden I know doesn't cry."
"Then stop angering me and maybe I won't." Boys are allowed to cry too.
Her lips curl up on the sides as she glances down at her gold watch. "We should get going."
I nod, taking hold of her hand. "Let's get this over with."
"Why don't you love parties?" She smirks.
All I do is glare at her as we make our way outside to where the Limo awaits us.

I admire my reflection once again, shocked that it's actually me all dressed up in the blood-red cocktail dress that comes down to the ankles, with a large slit up to the mid-thigh. Not only does it have to show off my pale leg, but of course it has to also have a dipping neckline giving a peek of... Whatever, the point is made that Ethan Mayer chose a dress that's way too immodest for my comfort. I'm really starting to hate that guy.
"You look beautiful."
I look up and smile at Ezra. "Thanks, but I think the dress is way too revealing."
He laughs. "You're not a child anymore Sab." His hand pushes a stray strand of hair away from my face. "You're supposed to dress pretty like this."
I snarl at that. "So guys would want to put their hands all over me." I know it's a nasty statement, but he asked for it.
