"Please don't close your eyes, please! I beg you. I'm here, Little Peanut. Please look at me, we're just there. You'll be alright, please don't give up!" he almost shouted, tears welling up in his eyes as he tried to encourage her and himself.

"I don't want to be alright.." a whisper left through her lips. She silently stared at the man driving beside her.

"I know you hate me, I know you hate the world, I know.. There's no need to care about the world but you have to care about me! You have to care about my feelings! I won't be able to survive if something happens to you, you gotta care, dammit!" he spoke those few words in anger, he knew exactly what happened, but at that moment all he wished for was her safety." How could you be so merciless my Little Peanut.."

"There's no way now.. Don't try.. I'm happy with it so let me be.. I don't deserve that care.."

"Stop speaking nonsense! You'll be fine! Nothing's gonna happen to you!"

The road was empty on that late night, the only source of sound was the screeching of the tyres of his car. The cold wind blew gently, yet it somehow managed to send shivers down their spines.

After all, who would have presumed that type of a day to come?

She coughed continuously, feeling like her organs were crushing inside. The pain was immense, but the pain gave her peace. It was oddly satisfying for her.

"Don't.. Skip your meals a-again.." she struggled to speak. "I won't be.. Able to cook.. For you from n-now.. I will.. Miss you.." she muttered, her gaze fixated on his distressed face, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lip. "I forgave you.. A long time ago.. I'm not angry.. With you.."

A wave of relief washed over him hearing her, but at the same time broke his heart with guilt, wondering how could a person be so generous..
He wiped his tears away, not letting them blur his eyes out from the road ahead. "Stop speaking with that tone.. You're not going anywhere. If you don't cook, I won't eat.. If you don't want to, I will.. I won't ask you to take my turns ever again. Please just stay strong!" his voice nearly broke as he spoke.

She wanted to reach out to hold his hand for one last time, to feel the warmth of his embrace, to comfort both herself and him.. But she saw no way to him although he was present just in front of her eyes. It was as if an invisible yet strong boundary was blocking her way..

Parted her lips to speak, but nothing came out, she felt weak, totally drained.

Her eyelids had no power to hold themselves up anymore. And with a deep breath, she let her body relax, let her heart beat at the slowest rhythm, let herself give up.

Her eyes then barely opened, probably had some millimeters of gap with which she could only sense his movements.

He glanced at her, only to look back again with wide eyes. Shock clearly visible on his face as he tried to predict if the girl beside was even breathing.
Completely forgetting about the vehicle he had to control, his hands reached to shake her. "Hey.. Little Peanut..?.. Are you serious?.. Do you think it's funny? Hey! Get up.."
