So this month, the nomorebullying challenge is about homosexuality. In case you're wondering, homosexuality is loving someone who is the same gender that you are. If you still have no idea what I'm talking about, read the nomorebullying book by nomorebullying. So, lets begin.
I don't understand the big deal that people make about homosexuality. Its part of life! My uncle is homosexual, but him and his parter are part of my family. And I've never seen them as anything besides, well, normal. Because it is normal, and they are normal people from our community. Same with my aunt and her partner. They're normal people from our community as well. They act the same as any straight woman would. They have feelings, and emotions. They have drama in their lives. They have good days, bad days, amazing things happen, terrible things happen. They don't deserve to be treated differently than anyone else.
Quotes about homosexuality
"It always seemed to me a bit pointless to disapprove of homosexuality. It's like disapproving of rain."
~Francis Maude"Everybody's journey is individual. If you fall in love with a boy, you fall in love with a boy. If you fall in love with a girl, you fall in love with a girl. The fact that many people consider it a disease says more about them than homosexuality."
~James Baldwin"What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart is curved like a road through mountains."
~Tennessee Williams. Streetcar Named Desire"Growing up, I felt there was something about me that set me apart from other kids. But I didn't have a grasp of what it was. I had a few fleeting crushes on girls, then a full blown crush. Inside, they felt right and normal. But at the same time, I didn't have any way to process those feelings because I didn't know any gay people. I felt that I would risk something if I expressed my feelings. Then when I started playing on my college rugby team-which had some lesbian players-for the first time, I saw women being openly affectionate to each other. I thought "Wow. The feelings I've been having are normal. Its okay to be who I am."
~Candace Gingrich"Silence kills the soul; it diminishes its possibilities to rise and fly and explore. Silence withers what makes you human. The soul shrinks, until its nothing.
~Marlon Riggs."I'm homosexual. How and why are idle questions. Its like wanting to know why my eyes are green."
~Jean Genet"God loves all flowers, even the ones that grow on the side of a highway or beside a dump."
~Unknown"If God had wanted me otherwise, he would have created me otherwise."
~Johann von Goethe"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
~Dr. SeussGot anymore? Let me know!
