Louis' POV:
I just woke up from a restless sleep because of what I found out about Amanda's father last night. I clench my fists trying to hold my anger towards him inside as I get up from the bed and go down to the kitchen for coffee. I have to drag myself downstairs because of how groggy and tired I feel.
When I get downstairs, I see Simon sitting in the den watching the news. "Good morning Uncle Si. Ugh, I wasn't able to sleep at all last night."
Simon looks back at me and asks, "What kept you up all night Louis? And what happened last night? I thought I heard crying."
Before I answer I stretch my back out. I answer through gritted teeth, "Well when I went to Amanda's room to keep the girls company last night, I heard them talking before I walked in. When I asked what about, they told me girl talk, but I knew better. And then Meghan told me about Amanda's first and only boyfriend and that her father almost killed him, and her. Amanda cut off contact from him because if she didn't, he would most likely end up dead. And I think she really misses him, because she couldn't stop crying at all while Meghan told me everything. So I'm pissed off and tired as fuck this morning."
Simon replies with, "I think that Amanda may need therapy to help her get past her tragic past." He pauses for a moment and then says, "And I will call the National Crime Agency and tell them that there is a rapist, attempted murderer, and child abuser on the run."
After Simon finishes speaking, I begin yawning and stretch my arms, causing my shoulders to pop. "Ahh. I thought before about hiring a therapist for Amanda to talk to and could help her with her psychological problems. But I haven't asked because I don't know if she would agree." I groan as I get up to get some coffee. "Uncle Si, is it alright if I go get some coffee? Because my brain is barely awake."
"Sure Louis, help yourself."
I go to the kitchen finally and pour some coffee into a mug. I add some sugar and creamer to the coffee to make it sweet. When I get back to the den, I see that Meghan has come downstairs and is talking to Simon. "Good morning Meghan. Were you able to sleep alright last night?"
Meghan yawns and then replies, "I almost slept like a baby. The bed was really comfortable, but I was really worried about Amanda. You have no idea how worried I am for her safety and well-being."
I look at Meghan with a 'really' look on my face. "You don't think that I feel that way too Meghan?" I don't wait for her answer as I say, "I don't want Amanda to be terrified that her father could be right around every corner waiting to take her back. No father should ever try to kill his daughter's boyfriend. Fathers are not supposed to treat their daughter like a sex toy."
Simon speaks to both Meghan and I, "You both clearly care about Amanda a lot, and so do I. However we should probably discuss this more once Amanda wakes up."
Amanda's POV:
I just woke up and find the other side of my bed empty. Louis probably woke up and went downstairs to get some coffee. So I get up and go over to the bathroom attached to the side of my room to wash my face.
As I begin washing my face I notice that my cheeks are still stained with tears from last night. I look under the sink and grab a washcloth. I hold it under the faucet and let it get wet, and then grab the soap and begin lathering up my face. I lather my face up until I look like I dunked my face in a tub of bubbles. Then I grab the washcloth and begin to wash the soap off of my face. After I get all of the soap off, I grab a dry towel from the linen closet.
I feel a lot more awake now that I've washed my face off. Now I just need some morning java to finish the wake up process. I slowly make my way downstairs, and as I get closer to the bottom I can hear someone talking. I take a few more steps and then stop so that I can hear what's being said. I hear a deep male voice, which I'm assuming belongs to Simon, say, "However we should probably discuss this more once Amanda wakes up." I wonder if they were talking about what happened last night, because that's the only thing I can think of that would concern me this early in the morning.
