Ch 12 Desperate

Hardik was frantically running in the corridor. His brain was planning all the ways he could save Rahul. Rajiv might be his friend but he had a serious ego issue. A player slapping him might set a rage of fire inside him. Hardik was scared, scared for Rah.

He decided he should visit MSD. He was the only guy Hardik could trust right now.

He knocked on MSD's door. The door opened revealing Rajiv Malhotra already sitting there with a grave expression.

Along with him was Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina. He understood that Rajiv has already told MSD everything. Hardik came inside and sat of a chair and looked at both of them.

Rajiv spoke up," I don't want to report Rahul as he is a great player, but this act of indiscipline cannot be tolerated. That's why I came to MSD."

His speech made it clear that he wanted justice for himself. Hardik looked at MSD who was an unreadable expression in his face. Suresh had a worried expression. This was a grave mistake. MSD spoke up
"I won't stop you from complaining as it is your right.."

Hardik looked at MSD with an shocked expression...
"But I want to you be soft hearted once... A complain can result in a direct suspension from the team.."

Rajiv: "I know MSD that's why I came to you."

Mahi sighed and then said, " Rah will be dropped from the next 3 matches as a punishment for his deeds and he has to ask for your forgiveness in front of the whole team..."

" I hope it's enough.."

"Its more than enough for this time please take care.." said Rajiv and left.

Suresh who was silent for the whole time finally spoke up
"Somethings wrong..
Like just think about it, why will Rah do it. He was never done anything like this in the past. He is not a crazy person there should be a reason, why does it feels like something is missing..."

Hardika nd Mahi looked at each other and understood what Suresh meant. Mahi thought of the time when he felt something off about Rajiv. He instructed Hardik to make a deep investigation about Rajiv's past and present.

Hardik came out the room and started walking towards his room. He entered the room and found his belt still Lieing on the floor but Rahul was nowhere to be seen. He searched for him everywhere but was not successful. He finally broke down when everything sink inside him. He was feeling terrible after what he did to Rahul. Maybe there was something more just like Suresh said and he really hurt his Rahul. He looked at belt and thought how much it had hurted Rahul. As he was in anger he probably didn't control his power.

He called Virat but the call was received by Rohit. He told him about ashamed he was of his friend. Hardik felt like he deserved those words. Rohit's words made him cry his heart out. On the other side Rohit informed him that Rahul was going to stay with Virat for the time being and instructed him not to contact him.

As said by MSD Hardik appointed some trusted people who could snoop some information about Rajiv. They made regular vists to BCCI in the name of meetings and work.

Rajiv's background was sketchy. Being school friends it never crossed Hardik's mind to do a background check but now that Hardik thought about it , things were not as simple as they seemed.

Rajiv's promotion to become the head coach at such an early age was no less than a miracle. It's not like Hardik was doubting him but things were a little sketchy.

He checked the official website of BCCI to get information about Rajiv. Turns Out he had submitted some really fishy stuff  to get advantage, things about Hardik never knew.
