Chojiro sat cross-legged outside the house, a serene figure amidst the tranquil surroundings of the forest. The early morning mist hung lightly around him, and the gentle rustling of leaves provided a soothing background to his meditation.
Meanwhile, inside the spacious kitchen, a lively scene unfolded.
"Oi, Daiki, hurry up," Eric called out impatiently, kneeling down to tie his shoelace with a swift motion.
Daiki, the youngest member of the group, sat at the table munching on a slice of bread, his expression relaxed despite Eric's urgency. "Wait, wait," he replied between bites, his blue hair catching the sunlight streaming through the windows.
Yuna, a thoughtful and caring presence among them, clasped her bag tightly against her chest. "I envy university students," she sighed wistfully, her eyes scanning the room with a hint of longing. "Oh, Megumi-san, Toshie was asking why you didn't reply to his message."
Megumi, with her icy blue eyes, looked up from the task of preparing breakfast. She chuckled softly at Yuna's comment.
"Why on earth would a 17-year-old senior be chasing after an 19-year-old university student?" Yui chimed in, her purple hair vibrant as she crossed her legs comfortably. "He should be focusing on his studies."
"He's just being persistent," Megumi replied with a small smile, her voice calm and unruffled.
"Must be nice to be pretty," Charlotte remarked casually as she settled down next to Yui, her striking red hair cascading over her shoulders. She exuded a quiet confidence that often made her the center of attention among the group.
As they bantered and prepared for the day ahead, Chojiro's presence loomed in their minds. He was not just their mentor but also the guiding force behind their training and missions.
"Sensei, we go first!" Yui exclaimed, waving enthusiastically as she, Eric, Daiki, and Yuna piled into the car, ready for another day at school. Chojiro smiled warmly at them, returning their wave before closing his eyes once more to resume his meditation.
A gentle voice interrupted his quiet contemplation. "Sensei, don't forget your breakfast."
Chojiro opened his eyes to find Charlotte standing before him, a tray of food in her hands. Her red hair glinted in the morning sunlight as she smiled warmly at him.
"Oh, Charlotte? No class?" he inquired, accepting the tray gratefully.
"I have class around 10 am later — reporting to work firstly" Charlotte replied cheerfully.
"And Megumi? Is she still inside?" Chojiro asked.
"Yeah," Charlotte confirmed, casting a glance towards the house. "But she mentioned she has classes in the afternoon."
"I see" Chojiro said with a nod, his gaze full of paternal concern for his students.
Across Tokyo's bustling streets, Yui, Eric, Daiki, and Yuna navigated their way through the morning rush, blending in seamlessly with the crowd while remaining ever vigilant for any signs of trouble. They were students during the day, but when duty called, they were ready to answer as Tokyo's unseen guardians.
The day unfolded in its usual rhythm for the group, each member immersed in their routines. Megumi lay in her room, her messy bun bobbing as she shifted on the bean bag, absorbed in her books. Charlotte, meanwhile, was busy at the cafe, skillfully managing her part-time job.
Yui chatted animatedly with her friends, laughter ringing out in the morning air. Yuna and her friends enjoyed their time at the canteen, the lively environment adding to the day's normalcy. Daiki was caught up in a fit of laughter with his friends, while Eric watched intently as his friend showed him a video on their phone.
