Olivia trembled.

The man before her was the one who had killed Chojiro and brutally wounded Nao. She peeked at the headless green body beside her, this man next to her was killed without any mercy. The man in front of him- his presence exuded a chilling aura that made her heart race in terror. She slowly bowed her head, acknowledging his power and her submission.

As she bowed her head in submission, she could feel the man's toxic energy radiating from him. The faintest brush of his skin against hers would be enough to bring about her demise. His ability to poison was a cruel gift, making him one of the most dangerous individuals Olivia had ever encountered.

"Good" he said, his voice laced with satisfaction.

Olivia's heart pounded as she looked up at him, the man who had taken her under his wing. As far as their team went, they brought chaos wherever they tread. This man was powerful, a user who could poison a soul just by his touch.

"Now, let's find that brat," the man smirked.

Ryusei Nakamura.

That brat.

He had been beaten half to death during his encounter with Ryusei before, and Ryusei was only fifteen at that time. The memory of the smug look on Ryusei's face as he told him that he was an easy opponent to messed with. Chojiro had nearly won their battle until one of the demons Olivia summoned devoured his soul, immediately resulting in his death. He battled with Nao, managing to avoid her needles attack and  touched her, immediately injecting the poison- resulting her to be in coma.

The man's grip tightened on his weapon as he recalled the encounter. "This time, it will be different. Ryusei will pay for what he did."

Olivia shivered at the intensity in his voice. She knew what he was capable of and feared what lay ahead. But there was no turning back now. She was bound to him and his mission of vengeance.

"Let's go," he commanded, smirking.

Charlotte waved at her friend and sat on the bench, shielding her face from the sunlight. What a very hot day, she thought.

After Chojiro's death, they had been quite inactive in their missions. Nao had passed away a couple of days after Chojiro's funeral. The house had lost its spark. Eric and Daiki were busy with school, Yuna and Yui were studying hard for their exams, and Megumi was occupied with numerous college activities.

Charlotte looked at her hand and clenched it tightly. She let out a sigh. Perhaps it was better to live like a normal human then.

"Charlotte-san"

She looked to her left. Megumi, holding her tote bag, was smiling. She sat next to Charlotte, playfully bumping her shoulder.

"Not going home?" Megumi asked.

"Not yet. Eric and Daiki will be home late due to their extracurricular activities," Charlotte said, sulking slightly. "And you know Yui and Yuna won't be home until 5."

"Ah, yes," Megumi said, glancing at her watch. "It's only 2 pm."

"Finished with class?"

"Yeah, I was about to go home," she said. "Then I saw you here."

They both fell silent for a moment.

"Alright, I'll see you at home," Megumi said, bumping Charlotte's shoulder again before walking away.

Charlotte stared at Megumi's back, a mix of emotions swirling inside her. She wished for the days when their lives were filled with purpose and their home was lively. As Megumi disappeared, Charlotte felt a pang of loneliness. She sighed again, trying to shake off the melancholic thoughts.
