The alarm bleeped, pulling Charlotte from sleep. She turned it off and pulled the blanket over herself. It had been months since the incident with Akaji, and the heartache was still fresh. Their batch had held a memorial for Akaji, claiming he had died in an accident. Since then, Charlotte and Ryusei had not spoken, and she had gone through every stage of heartbreak.
Another day began. She slowly got out of bed, her eyes puffy and red. Sniffling, she tied the curtains before sitting at the edge of the bed. She had removed everything that reminded her of Akaji; the betrayal had left deep scars.
Charlotte slipped on her slippers and went out of her room. She found Sensei Chojiro meditating outside. Sighing, she sat at a nearby chair and poured herself a cup of tea.
"Morning, Charlotte," Megumi said, joining her.
"Oh, Megumi," Charlotte responded, glancing at her. "No class today?"
"My lecturer called in sick, and I only had one subject today, so no class," Megumi said with a chuckle.
"I'm free today too. Maybe I'll do some shopping or training," Charlotte said, sniffing.
Megumi placed her hand gently over Charlotte's. "Hey, it's okay. You can take it slow."
Charlotte bit her lip and said, "I don't know, Megumi. It was my first serious relationship."
Megumi chuckled softly. "Ah, so the previous ones weren't?"
Charlotte waved her hand dismissively, managing a weak smile. "Oh, you know how teenage love goes."
Charlotte bit her lip and said, "I don't know, Megumi. I mean, that was my first serious relationship."
"Ah, so your previous relationships weren't serious?" Megumi chuckled.
Charlotte waved her hand dismissively, offering a weak smile. "Oh, you know how teenage love is."
As Chojiro joined them, he asked, "Don't have a class today?"
"Sensei, we're both free," Charlotte replied.
"Well, then you should go pamper yourselves," Chojiro suggested with a chuckle. "The rewards from the mission are more than sufficient for a girls' day out."
"Good idea! I know a fantastic salon and spa," Megumi said eagerly. "How about we head there this afternoon?"
"Better than lamenting," Charlotte agreed.
By afternoon, the streets of Shibuya buzzed with activity. Tourists wandered, snapping photos and chatting animatedly. Charlotte gripped her bag tightly, savoring the vibrant atmosphere after a long time.
"This is the place," Megumi said, pointing to a luxurious spa nestled between high-end shops.
As they entered, a host in a crisp uniform greeted them with a warm smile. "Welcome to Serenity Spa. We offer a range of services designed to rejuvenate and refresh. Our signature treatments include relaxing massages, invigorating facials, and soothing body scrubs. Please let us know if you have any specific preferences or if you'd like a tour of our facilities."
The spa's interior was a sanctuary of tranquility. Soft ambient music played in the background, and the air was filled with the soothing scent of essential oils. Plush chairs and elegant decor created a serene environment, promising a perfect escape from the everyday stress.
Charlotte and Megumi settled into the plush massage bed, their bodies melting under the skilled hands of the masseurs. The rhythmic kneading of the masseurs' fingers worked wonders on their tense muscles, easing away the stress of recent events. The soft music and gentle lavender aroma in the air created an ambiance of deep relaxation.
