She was thankful to the upper powers that her classmates were nice, even one asking her a question about the lesson directly.
However, the only one who made the lesson hard was her deskmate, Valerie, the very same girl who gave her the tour, and the very same girl who hates her for some unknown reason.
But now, she was walking out of the classroom, heading towards the reception, where she was gonna pick her books. She had no idea where her locker is yet, but that was a problem for after she gets her books.
Following the remembered route, she found herself seeing the reception, with the books already placed on the desk.
"Um, hello...?" She walked to the reception, gaining attention from the woman.
"Ah, hello, Miss...Moon, are you?" The woman asked, as Michelle nodded. "Great, here are your books, but one book is missing, since we don't have it in school for some reason, so that one will come the next week."
"I understand, thank you." Michelle said, grabbing the mountain of books into her hands. She turned around, heading towards the staircase, only to see someone;
Valerie.
The girl was just standing there, but as soon as Michelle looked into her eyes, the girl became furious again, and angrily left, confusing Michelle.
What's up with her? She confuses me more and more. Michelle thought, walking on the staircase and up, where she kinda hoped the lockers were.

The lockers weren't there.
But with a little bit of help from her classmates she saw on her way, she was guided to the lockers, one of them also helping her with the books.
She organized the stuff in her locker just in time for the next lesson. Looking at her timetable, her eyes went wide.
IT
The one book she was missing.
Oh great, hopefully the teacher excuses me. Michelle thought, locking her locker and heading back towards her homeroom, where she had already spotted her deskmate waiting there, all alone.
"Hey, um-" "Finally, I've been waiting for ages!" Valerie annoyingly said.
"Waiting for...?" "You, you idiot!" Valerie snapped. "Since you are my deskmate, that means we are supposed to go to other classrooms together!"
"Oh," Michelle said. "I...didn't know."
"Save it." Valerie huffed. "Let's just go."
Michelle silently followed the girl heading towards what were probably the computer classrooms. For some reason she followed not just the path they were taking, but rather the person, and her movement.
She had this stunning movement, one that the people on the fashion shows have. And her being so pretty, she was dumbfounded.
Was she beginning to like this girl?
Hopefully, this is just a small, temporary crush. She'd be an idiot if she fell for her.

The teacher excused her, just making her deskmate share the book with her. She would've said Valerie was annoyed...but she wasn't.
She was furious.
Why did she hate her all of a sudden?
The teacher began calling out the students to read a part of the text, as she noticed the angry girl push the book towards her, pointing at where were they.
But she noticed something; her ring. She had style, she was gonna give her that, but...she saw a ring that looked exactly like hers. She wondered if this was something normal, but either way...it was surprising.
Quickly looking around the class, she noticed no one having any kind of ring, except the stylish gold ones she despised, because of how ugly they looked.
She also never heard her mum mention where she got the rings, she had this ring for years. Which also now surprised her; how did the ring adapt to her fingers growing?
"Weird..." She heard Valerie say. Michelle looked at her, noticing that Valerie was staring at her hand. "From where do you have that ring?"
"My mum...she gave it to me years ago," Michelle said. "It's the only piece of jewelry I wear."
That seemed to satisfy Valerie because her face didn't seem so furious all of a sudden.
Weird. Michelle thought.
The lesson continued normally, with Michelle occasionally looking at her deskmate, who was either staring into nowhere, or actually reading the book. Surprisingly, the teacher called out the whole class for some reading, but never her.
Maybe she will get to know her better, who knows?

Soon, the classes were over, with neither Michelle nor Valerie speaking to each other since their talk about the rings. It was still weird that she, out of all people, had the exact same ring as her.
Right now, she was waiting for the bus to take her home. On one of her breaks, she carefully studied the connections and knew that this one was stopping much closer to her house...with the difference being it was a few stops more.
She was all alone on the stop, she wasn't even surprised; who would be taking a bus at this time? She mostly saw parents taking their children home, or them ordering a taxi or going much sooner.
As she stood by the sign, the wind blowing her hair a little bit, she noticed a car, slowing down as it came relatively close to the sign. Curiosity got the best of her, and she looked inside.
In there was Valerie, almost staring right into her soul. But Michelle shook it off, and waved at the girl, who just looked away, and the driver drove away.
Really weird girl. Michelle thought, as the bus stopped and she got on, finding herself a seat again on the end of the bus, despite it being completely empty.
She wondered why Valerie was like this. Sure, they were strangers, but Michelle had more positive interactions with people in the hallway than her.
And if she needed to survive throughout the semester, she needed to befriend her.
It can't be that hard...right?
