Chapter-20 Sauna Day!!!

Y/N pov:

It's Sunday today and I thought I could sleep till noon but then I remembered I have an pending assignment to finish. So I quickly woke up from the bed went to the bathroom and took a quick shower.

I had an assignment about creating a new dish of my own with my own style. And I have to give it with proper and detailed recipe. So I decided to go shopping for the ingredients.

I dressed in a simple white croptop paired with a sweater and jeans with sneakers. I put my hair in a bun and left the house to the nearby convenience store.

I entered the store and started to put all that I need in a cart. I got some meat, eggs, veggies and other ingredients. I checked my list to ensure that I got all the things I need. Then I went to the snacks isle to get some snacks. I got some chocolates and biscuits but I saw the chips in the top row which was a little higher for me to reach. I tried tiptoeing to reach it but it all went in vain. I was dejected that I couldn't get the chips. However I saw a small ladder nearby so I took it and climbed on it to get the chips. But my bad I stop on the edge of the ladder which made me slip and fall from it. I was damn sure I was gonna hit the ground badly so I closed my eyes and prayed for some miracle. And thankfully I didn't hit the ground, rather someone caught me.

I opened my eyes only to be met by a pair of eyes that looked at me curiously. He let me down to stand on my foot and removed the mask covering his face.

"Vernon?"

He smiled at me sheepishly.

"what are you doing here?"

"just came to buy some snacks" he replied

"thank you for saving me earlier...I would have got hurt badly"

"its no problem, thank god I came at the right time to save you"

"yea like the knight in shining armor" I said laughing lightly at him.

"surely"

"oh btw why do you have so much on your cart?" he asked me eyeing the cart behind me full of cooking items.

"oh that..i have an assignment on creating a new recipe so that's why I've got all these"

"ohh nice...." he replied.

He then got me that chips packet and we proceeded to the checkout.

Once the billing was done, I tried to take the bag from the counter however before even I could reach it Vernon got it.

"I've got it" he smiled at me and walked out with me.

"you know you don't have to do all these right?" I asked him walking next to him on the way back home.

"well helping isn't something bad...so yeah" he said adjusting his beanie over his head.

We reached my house in no time and I opened the door to let us in.

He kept the bag in the kitchen counter and I asked him to make himself a home.

I gave him some water and asked him "want some freshly brewed coffee?"

"that will do"

I smiled and started to make the coffee and I saw him entering kitchen and took a seat in the stool. I gave him the coffee and sat opposite to him. The coffee drinking time was silent. I wouldn't say it was awkward but it was just silent. Once we were done I took our cups and kept it in the sink for washing.

Then I started with my assignment work. The biggest work.

I had already prepared the recipe for the dish that I'm gonna make so I started the work.
