Chapter Two:

I stirred my drink as I waited for Mitchel to come back. I felt my phone in my pocket buzz. I pulled it out and saw a text from Paul.

‘I want to end things. They just aren’t the same as they used to be.’

I stared at the message, then shrugged. I don’t know why but I wasn’t upset. I knew it was going to happen. After all the fighting and the PMSing he has, he was constantly snapping at me. Don’t get me wrong I loved him, but our love had changed. I had been so caught up in school and trying to make my grades better so I could graduate, that we hardly talked. He always asked me to skip class and would yell at me and say I didn’t care when we were talking, it always turned into a fight.

“What’s up?”

I looked up and saw Mitchel sliding back into his seat, across from me.

I gave him a smile and shoved my phone back into my pocket, “Oh nothing big. Paul broke up with me.”

Mitchel froze, a roll halfway to his mouth, “Are you okay?”

He reached over and placed his hand on top of mine, his thumb gently rubbing the top of my hand. I blushed and nodded.

“I kinda saw this coming. I mean the one thing that pisses me off is that he thought it would affect me that much. He thinks he is such a big part of my life, and yeah sure he WAS, but I have other things in my life. I’m not going to put it on hold for him because he’s made I’m making something of my life.”

I took a breath and rested my head in my hands.

“Admit it.”

I looked at Mitchel, “What?”

“Admit you want to plan some revenge. I know you,” he said, with a smirk.

I laughed, “Okay, I do a bit. But only because I love revenge and I feel like I should pay him back for all the “kind times” he showed me this past year.”

I ran my fingers through my hair, looking across the restaurant while I thought, “I just want him to hurt. For all the times he made me cry. It’s obvious I just got out of high school, isn’t it? Still got that drama?”

Mitchel chuckled, “Just a bit.”

I kicked him under the table, “What are you trying to say?”

“Ow, I’m just saying that girls like drama.”

I kicked him again, “Oh shush you, before I make you pay an arm and a leg for me.”

Mitchel smiled and shook his head, “You haven’t changed Sophi.”

“Nope, still annoying ole me.”

He reached over and gave my hand a squeeze, “More like loveable.”

I gave him a small smile.

May 24th 2011:

“Now, stay safe,” my mom said hugging me tightly, “And make sure you Skype your brother twice a week!”

“I will mom, I promise,” I replied letting go then crouching down to the little boy next to my mom, “I’m going to miss you my little man.”

I held out my arms and pulled him to me, giving him a big hug, “I love you.”

“I love you too sissy,” he gave me a hug and kiss.

I picked him up and held him in my arms as my dad walked over to me.

“Here,” he said handing me my iPhone, “I just got it activated to have international minutes. Call once a week.”

“Yes sir,” I said nodding.

I heard a horn honking and I looked up and saw a shiny black limo pull up to my house. The door opened and Mitchel popped out.

“Heyyyyy!” he said.

He ran over to us, “Hi Mr. and Mrs. Monroe.”

My father nodded at him and my mother gave him a warm smile, “Hello Mitchel. It’s so good to see you again.”

She gave him a hug, “Now you keep her safe.”

Mitchel nodded and smiled, “Don’t worry. I won’t let her out of my sight.”

After about 20 minutes of goodbyes, Mitchel, the band and I were on our way to the airport. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I hoped I was ready for this job.

I stretched and stood up. After hours of flying we had finally landed in London. The first show was tomorrow night and we had so much to do. I stood next to Mitchel, leaning my head on his shoulder as we waited for our baggage.

“Ready for all of this?” He asked.

I just shrugged.

“Here’s our bags.”

He bent over and picked up a couple of his suitcase, I copied his actions. We headed out the door. Outside I saw the tour bus. It was a sleek, shiny black.

“Oh wow.”

Mitchel chuckled beside me, “This is going to be a summer you won’t forget.”

He climbed on the bus with me following close behind.
