Chapter Five:

"Sophi!"

I turned and saw Mitchel jogging towards me. We had just finished the rehearsal and I was heading out of the venue to meet Silas for lunch.

I stopped and folded my arms as he caught up to me, coming to a stop in front of me.

"What do you want?" I asked, still very irritated from last night.

"I wanted to apologize," he said softly, hanging his head.

I bit my lip, contemplating.

"Why did you say what you said?" I questioned, "that was EXTREMELY hurtful. We've been friends for so long. Through so much. Why Mitchel?"

He sighed, "I don't know. I guess I was jealous."

I raised my eyebrows at this statement, "jealous of what?"

"You going out to lunch with Silas. I invited you on this trip, not only as a manager, but to spend time with you before you went off to college and became too busy for me. We haven't seen eachother often with the whole Hannah Montana stuff and I miss you. And with you spending time with him, I was jealous," he confessed.

I frowned, "Mitchel, I'm sorry if you felt that way. I just wanted some fun after my break up. I would never ignore you. I miss you too, and I promise we'll have time together. We can hang out all day tomorrow before the show."

Mitchel nodded, "so do you forgive me?"

I gave him a smile, "This time."

He pulled me into a hug, which I returned.

"Now go have fun. But be here for the show. And don't make plans after," he said.

"Why's that?" I asked.

"Cause we have a dinner date," he said with a smile.

I smiled at him and nodded, "Alright. I'll see you at the show."

I turned and left, heading out the door.

"Hey!"

I turned as saw Silas leaning against post, cigarette between his lips.

I smiled and walked over, "hey. I hope I haven't kept you waiting for too long."

He smiled at me and shook his head.

"I'd wait for days if I had to," he said, flicking his cigarette to the ground.

We headed down the street towards a busy part of the city. Vendors were on either side, yelling and calling out to tourists competing for sales. Cafe's lined the building's.

We stopped at a small coffeehouse. The menu looked simple enough. Stepping through the door we found a table by the window and sat down.

"So," Silas said, "how'd you get into the music industry?"

I frowned slightly. It wasn't a question I would've started out with but maybe he was just trying to find some common ground.

"Mitchel is my best friend. We've known each other for years," I confessed, picking up the coffee that the waiter had just brought us.

"That must be exciting. So you are close?" He asked.

I nodded, "well yeah. We'd do anything for each other."

Silas smiled, "Well enough about work. Tell me about yourself."

I shrugged, "Not much to know. I just graduated high school. Managing for a summer job."

"Boyfriend?"

I shook my head, "I was dating a guy who lived in Denmark. But we broke up a few days ago."

"Denmark? Wow that's a distance."

I shrugged, "I guess. But when you care for someone, distance isn't a problem."

"Then why did you break up?" Silas asked, brushing his hair out of his face.

"We cared but it became a rut and we drifted apart."

Silas nodded, "Understandable. A lack of a physical relationship and just skyping can often become just mundane."

I nodded in agreement, "Yeah but it was a mutual feeling. So no hard feelings."

"And no baggage."

I smiled, "nope. Ready to move on already."

"Well," I said, stopping in front of the venue, "this is my stop."

Silas smiled and stopped beside me.

"I had a good time," he said.

"Me too." I smiled back at him.

"How long are you here for?" He asked.

"A week. Then we move to France."

"Okay. Wanna get dinner after the show?"

I shook my head, "got plans with Mitchel. Best friend date."

Silas nodded, but seemed irritated, "okay. Tomorrow?"

"I'll try. We have a busy day. Rehearsal and promotional events."

"Okay. Well come by my room tonight," he said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

I nodded, "okay."

Silas leaned down and kissed my cheek.

I blushed and smiled.

"I'll see you later."

He turned and walked down the street headed back to the hotel. I turned and walked through the double doors into the venue.
