Armando was stunned as the prison gates opened, allowing him to walk free. Confusion etched across his face, he turned to the officer who had come to retrieve him.

"Why are they releasing me?" Armando demanded, suspicion clear in his voice.

Marcus stepped forward, the tension palpable. "Listen, I know you and your father have a complicated relationship, but he messed up. Maila has been kidnapped."

Armando's eyes narrowed. "How the fuck did that happen? Mike told me he was gonna put her in witness protection."

Marcus sighed, frustration evident. "Mike and Rita did some digging and discovered Dominic was involved in sex trafficking. They wanted to take him off the streets, so they used Maila as bait. She agreed to it."

Anger flared in Armando's eyes. "So now he wants me to do damage control just like my mother?"

Marcus shook his head. "Look, I get it. Your mother lied to you, and you didn’t even get a chance to have a full family discussion. But Mike isn’t perfect. He’s trying to make things right."

Armando clenched his fists, the weight of his past pressing down on him. "Fine, but I’m not doing it for him."

Marcus nodded, understanding. "Fair enough. Do it for Maila. She’s in deep trouble, and she needs someone she can trust to get her out."

Armando took a deep breath, steeling himself for the task ahead. "Let's get moving then. Time's wasting."

Maila was confined in a small, dimly lit room, the air heavy with the stench of fear and despair. She could hear the distant sounds of people talking, their voices muffled by the walls. Her hands were bound, and she felt a gnawing dread growing within her.

Dominic entered the room, his presence as menacing as ever. He walked around her, circling like a predator sizing up its prey.

"You know, Maila," Dominic began, his voice dripping with condescension, "I thought you’d be more trouble than you’re worth. But it turns out, you might actually fetch a good price."

Maila's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?"

Dominic smirked, leaning in closer. "You’re going to be sold. Someone with your looks and spirit, there’s a high demand for that in certain circles."

Her stomach churned, a mix of rage and terror twisting inside her. "You can’t do this," she spat, defiance flaring in her eyes. "Mike will come for me. You’ll regret this."

Dominic laughed, a cruel, hollow sound. "Oh, I'm counting on it. But by the time he gets close, you’ll be long gone, and I’ll have disappeared into thin air. This isn’t about revenge anymore, sweetheart. It’s about profit."

Maila struggled against her restraints, her mind racing. She had to find a way out, had to survive until help arrived. But as the door closed behind Dominic, she felt the walls closing in, the weight of her situation pressing down on her.
