Within a chapel, high above the clouds, two golden specks float. These are the remnant of Grace. One enters the palm of a woman in a garb not belonging to this world.

Yep, I'm going there. I never did see Izuku get paired with a female Link.

The other floats into the palm of a boy with green hair, wearing a bloody school uniform. However, something goes wrong. The remnant sparks violently until turning green. Then, it's absorbed.

1 death...

Death quickly reaches Izuku and his new found companion in the form of the Grafted Scion. Linkle, using a longsword and knight shield, severs an arm. Izuku takes the sword and when the monster is about to kill Linkle, Izuku jumps on its back and slits the scion's throat.

The two really should have kept their guard up. When they approached a cliff, the Grafted Scion ambushes them again, breaking the ground they stood on.

2 deaths...

Izuku and Linkle wake up in a cave. Izuku finds his sword has transformed into something else. Something similar to the longsword Linkle has. But... more demonic? Izuku dubs it the All Strike.

Izuku and Linkle travel through the cave and come across a floating stone. Izuku reaches his hand out, but it shivers and sparks before turning green.

The two don't know what this means, but they get a bottle of green fluid from it. A name appears in their heads: the Emerald Tears.

8 deaths...

Izuku and Linkle arrive at a small church in Limgrave. They spot another floating stone and interact with it. Again, it reacts violently and turns green.

It's getting dark, so they decide to use it as a campfire for the night. However, they aren't the only ones.

Appearing from nowhere is a girl in simple attire and one bad eye. "Two? There should only be one. And neither are normal tarnished... Hello. My name is Melina."

Izuku gives a hello and Linkle nods with a kind smile

Izuku gives a hello and Linkle nods with a kind smile. Melina continues. "I have a story to tell. I believe you might find it interesting."

"Tell me, doesn't this sound familiar? Yes, you are the Tarnished of no renown. But, you are two when you should be one. I feel we have had this same meeting before. And yet, it also feels different. Please, take these. Through your spirits, call forth a steed." Melina hands a golden whistle to each of them.

Linkle tries it first, but she looks worried. Yet, also eager. She blows the whistle and...

Melina preaches "The steed of a hero

Melina preaches "The steed of a hero. Through out the many lives they lived, she was always there with them. This is the first time she has answered a call though..."

"The nameless chocobo. Orphaned at birth, this flightless bird seeks a kindred spirit to join in a quest against the unfair world. She holds a heart of courage and a will of steel."

Izuku thinks back on his world. All the heroes he has ever known. The hero who is most like this... The Rabbit Hero. Thus, Izuku names her Rumiruko. She seems happy.

1263 deaths...

Finally... The beast is slain. All that's left is to claim the throne. Izuku looks at his life long companion through out this nightmare. She makes an "after you" gesture. It's all the prompting he needed. Izuku takes his seat and...
