Jasmine
"He liked me?" was all I could think as I shut the door. Well at least I think he likes me. The way he was so angry when Omari stated that he thought that he had liked me made me wonder, either he was getting annoyed or he just didn't like me, at all . I had no feelings towards him, maybe. I didn't want to because of what he was doing to me and what he was involved in, but something about him was just compelling me to know more about him.I wanted to know more about why he was always angry and who he had all this anger built up against. I moved from in front of the door deciding that it was time to take a bath. After about an hour I was dressed into a short purple dress. Sitting on the bed, I glanced around the room looking at the walls which vaguely resembled the colour of my dress. By the way this room was arranged and all the different colours incorporated it was meant for a girl.
I couldn't sit in a room with nothing to do so I got up turning my door knob slowly and closed the door even slower. Turning around, I looked from left to right and heard the sound of Jacob's snores. His room was located not too far from mine on the opposite side of the hall. The door was wide open and he was sprawled out on his satin bed sheets, shirtless. I stood there watching him for some time making sure to admire his peacefulness because when he woke all of that would be gone. He shifted somewhat and I hid behind the wall but he just went back to being calm.
I backed up a little and turned on my heel heading towards the end of the hall where his office was situated. Remembering some days ago when I heard my brother's voice coming from my phone, I wanted to find it to at least tell him I was fine or more. I was surprised that he still had it knowing that anyone could track it down. Stepping into his office I turned the light on and the room lit up. I immediately went to his desk opening the first draw on the upper right side of the desk. My eyes widened at the sight of a gun that was just sitting in there. My mind was going crazy, one half of me telling me to take it and the next telling me not to.
Dismissing those thoughts, I realised that I came for one thing and one thing only, my phone. I opened the second draw and my purse was in there. I took it out digging into it making sure that all my things were there. My phone was not in there and I opened another draw digging in there finding files about persons but not too much that Jacob realises that I had went through his draw. Opening another draw I sighed. It was nowhere to be found.
"What are you doing?" I froze slowly looking up to see a once peaceful looking man now with an anger filled face. He had a gun in his hand but put it back into its holster. Silence, I said nothing so that I wouldn't make the situation even worse than it was.
"You're looking for your phone huh?" He asked knowing very well that he was correct. I closed the draw and tried not to make eye contact, not to mention the fact that he was still shirtless.
"It's gone" was all he could say. Fluid tried to fill my eyes but I held it back, I hated it every time and it just showed how vulnerable I was. He walked around the table coming closer to me while I just planted myself in that position. I stared at the gun in the draw which I had left open. He followed my gaze and immediately slammed the draw closed causing me to swallow a lump in my throat.
"Why do you have to be so difficult?" He said as he clenched his jaw. He slammed his hand on the table growing even more angry.
"If you would let me call my brother then I wouldn't be so difficult" I said quietly lowering my head. I could feel his intense stare on me and when I looked up I was right. Trying to be brave, I held the stare and after some time he looked away pinching his nose and laughing. Him laughing was not a good sign for me.
He grabbed me by my upper hand and pulled me closer to him as I closed my eyes not wanting to be so close to him because of what he did last time.
"You really don't want to test me" he warned before letting go and backing away.
"Out" he shouted pointing towards the door. I walked the other way around and out the door.
"Jasmine" I turned around without a sound, "Go get dressed and be ready in 15 minutes"
I got into 'my' room wondering why all of a sudden he was being nice, or what I thought to be nice, because he lowered his voice and talked to me calmly. It didn't matter anyway because I will be warned when I get to the door and he would go back to being mean again.
Jacob
I got dressed in a black tank and a black joggers with a black jacket and some black and white adidas shoes. I waited on Jasmine to finish but she was taking way too long and when I checked fifteen minutes had gone. As I walked up the stairs I saw her coming out of her room wearing black uggs, a huge red sweater and black skinny jeans. We walked to the door and she tried opening the door but I stopped her.
"If you try anything you know what's going to happen" I warned as she shook her head and watched the ground. We walked to the garage and I opened it up revealing my all black Mustang. Driving out, I buckled up and headed towards a place I had in mind to take her to ease her up some. As we stopped at a red light, I glanced at her as her head lay on the window with all of her attention outside. As if she felt my stare, she turned around looking at me only for a split second before turning back around.
After a while we arrived at the spot and night was falling. Her eyes were taped to the scene infront of her. It was the view of the city from a lookout. From all the lights shining brightly from the city made the night sky's lights seem dim but grabbed your attention anyway. I got out and I sat on the hood of my car. Moments later I heard Jasmine's car door open. She slowly walked out to the front and sat on the opposite side but looked up to the sky causing me to do the same.
Her eyes roamed every nook and cranny and then they landed on me. She averted them to her hands and awkwardly sat there fiddling with them. I decided that I should speak to her, make her feel comfortable.
"You ok?"
"Y-yea" she stumbled as if hesitating to say yes but what she really wanted to say was no. I was in deep thought when she asked
"Why?"
"Why what?" I inquired in confusion.
"Why haven't you killed me yet?" She answered.
I was stuck and lost for words. Why would she think that I would want to kill her? Silence filled the air as she continued to watch me waiting for an answer.
"Why would you think I would want to kill you?"
"I don't know...I mean... I guess because I saw something I wasn't supposed to, you were going to.."
She lifted herself off against the car and proceeded back into the vehicle. I sat there for a moment thinking about how one question could have killed the mood ever so slowly. I got up slipping into my seat and starting up the car. The sound of her sniffling filled my ears and I immediately turned the engine back off. She took a glance my way with her tear stained face and I grabbed her arm pulling her somewhat closer to me.
From one arm to the next they went timidly around her waist as I showed my affection in an effortless way. Her cries stopped as she realised the situation and slowly pulled away from me. It became totally awkward as she turned back around in her position as before and I sat in seat trying to confirm my actions. I had just hugged her.
Bad ending and sorry for the long wait.
