For the past few days no one was out searching for Jasmine. It was if she didn't exist and even if she did no one seemed to care about her whereabouts. She stayed inside most of the times and only departed her room when Jacob had called her to eat. He bought her lots of clothes and other supplies. From that moment on Jasmine realised that she was not going to get away from Jacob no matter what but at the same time it was as if she felt safe staying with him and away from the cruel world.
Jacob on the other hand was carrying on with life as usual doing business and getting the job done. He checked up on Jasmine every once in a while mainly to see if she was still in her room and didn't find a way to escape. He contemplated to himself as to why he decided to keep her in the first place when they could have killed her then or let her off with a threat and probably find her and kill her if she told. There was just something in her that he admired so much but he didn't know yet.
Currently Jasmine was sitting in her room in boredom which she always did, depressed. It wasn't healthy and she knew that for a fact but carried about anyway. Some days she would lay there and cry her eyes out knowing that she would never leave but tried to think about the benefits of staying at the current position she was in. She decided to get up out of her queen sized bed and explore the interior of the house. Never once did she peek around as she walked with Jacob to breakfast, lunch or dinner because she wasn't quite interested but now she was curious. Going into her toilet and bathroom she washed her tear-stained eyes and proceeded to open her bedroom door to begin her tour.
Stepping out into the hallway, she looked both ways before closing the door to see if there was any sign of Jacob. None. Jasmine made her way down the hall further away from her room passing each room and examining each room with an awe filled expression. One room she came about and figured that it was Jacob's room because of the clothes scattered about. The house was quite big which led Jasmine to the last door at the end of the hall. Lights shined from under the door which meant that either Jacob was in there or he just left the lights on but most likely it was the first option. She twisted the door handle lightly and pushed with little force and the door made a little opening where she could poke her head through and there he was, Jacob.
He lay there, his head on the wooden brown desk that he sat behind. He was clearly exhausted by the way his head was placed on the desk, not even looking as though he was comfortable. As Jasmine moved closer to his desk he began to stir in his sleep and as he did she began to slowly back away and out of the room but before she could even make it to the door he raised his head to see Jasmine standing in one spot with her head down and fumbling with her fingers.
"What are you doing here?" Jacob inquired as she just stood there avoiding all eye contact. Jasmine didn't want to speak to him and at all times tried to avoid Jacob and she didn't want to be in this situation. She slightly lifted her head still trying to avoid looking directly into his eyes.
"I-I was just looking around" she slowly answered in a soft but audible voice. Jacob looked at his desk with all his 'paper work' and decided to leave it alone for the night because he was exhausted and was dying to sleep on his comfortable bed. He rose from behind his desk and started walking towards Jasmine.
"Let's go to bed" he spoke after he yawned rubbing his watery eyes. It was about 12 in the morning. He escorted Jasmine to her room telling her goodnight but not receiving one in return. He wanted her to warm up to him a lot more because she was basically going to be here her whole life. He decided that he was going to give her more freedom because all she ever did was stay in her room but that would have to wait. He walked to his room and got in between his sheets immediately falling asleep.
Meanwhile Jasmine was still awake considering that she was not tired trying to refrain tears from spilling from her eyes. Never did she imagine this happening in her life. She always tried to get away from the bad influences in her life such as her mother so that she could live a better life but things took a change for better or worse?
