Rizwan's pov

'Such a miserable way to start the day' he thought as he squirms under his blanket. "Should I just..... No way that can't be, I just can't." He mumbles under his breathe. His fear for the dentist might just let him go on with his life without getting the pain treated, but it's too bad. Too much. He can't just let it go and the fear will drive him crazy.

He gets up from his bed as he starts to make his way to the bathroom to wash up. Not to go to the dentist. He has a match. He is a cricketer. But he hasn't told anyone about the pain. The frickin' cavity. He looks in the mirror just to find a pretty face with slightly swollen eyes that are not too much but quite noticeable. He rolls his eyes. He's just gonna get ready. It's almost 9:00 in the morning. He woke up late today because Haris decided to invite everyone to a dinner after achieving another milestone of 100 t20i wickets and they made him stay till 2:00 in the morning.

He is ready to leave. The match timing is 11:30.The match is against England and it's an odi match. It's a series. They've already lost the previous series against New Zealand. So he has to arrive early in order to practice. He gets in his car at around 9:35.He makes his way towards the stadium. It's a drive of about 10-15 minutes.

He reaches the stadium in about 30 minutes because Shadab and Saim decided to not drive today. They said they were not feeling like it. It made Rizwan even more irritated because the excruciating pain just won't go away. He knows the solution but decides to ignore and he couldn't let those two half sleepy idiots in the back seat know.

He makes his way towards the ground at around 10:15. 'Late' he thinks as he starts warming up. He can't stop thinking about the agony he is feeling. He was deep in his thoughts until he realized he almost whined after seeing Naseem in front of him. He frickin' had his tongue on that idiotic tooth. "What do you even want this early in the morning??!! " He almost yelled. Naseem raised his left eyebrow in confusion. A subtle 'what' came out of Rizwan's mouth that was already hurting. He whined. Once again. "Are you okay? You look like your mouth is hurting. Did someone punch you?? Or-" " Stop it. It's nothing serious. I just bit on my tongue".He says trying to change the topic. "Aight.Only if you say so." Naseem says rather convinced.

It was almost 7:45 when the match finished. They had won it. Rizwan was glad something good happened on such a miserably started day. But oh, the pain.He was now in the dressing room packing up his things to go home and to probably forget about the pain.He was again in his thoughts when Naseem approached him and again asked about his mouth."You kept making weird noises behind the stumps. I'm sure you know. And weird faces too. Is everything really good?"And just then Rizwan decided to break the silence. He was about to speak when Haris came and pulled his cheeks. His hands hit the exact spot. He suppressed his whine. And his eyes teared up. Haris just didn't even realize what he had done as he kept joking around with others. Naseem noticed and asked immediately, "What is it???!! If you don't tell it to me this instant, I will tell the coach. And you'll be ruled out of this series." He threatened Rizwan because it was probably the only way to scare him. He did feel guilty about saying that to him later.

"And now here I am with this pain. That's all." Rizwan explains him everything. The day it started was actually a week ago. "And shouldn't you go see a dentist or-" "Nah I'm fine on my own. I'll just take a few tablets and-" "Ain't no way your scared of dentists, are you?" Naseem asks with confusion with a slight glint of amusement."How d-dare you say something like that t-to me? Do you r-really believe that??!!! "Naseem gave him a sideways glance and a tiny smile. " You are coming with me to the doctor. No excuses. " Naseem pulls him with his arm and takes him to his car. Rizwan does not want to make a fuss of it in front of everyone so he just follows, scared for his life. 'Oh god, why are dentists so scary' he thinks as he is being pulled like a kid.
