It had always been obvious to Lucia who the favorite child was, her sister Paula.
She had way more freedom than Lucia ever had, and honestly she was happy for her, Paula was able to live her life the way she wanted. She'd be able to marry whoever she wanted, be friends with whoever she wanted and get whatever job she could.
For Lucia? It was a different story. Their parents were alot more strict when it came to her, for example, something she wasn't allowed was to have guy friends.
Her best friend though? Rick Grimes. (Yes he was boy, but what her parents didn't know of didn't hurt them.)
Well they were best friends, with a lot of difficult feelings to one another... or at least on her end, but she'd never admit it to him, even when Paula kept telling her the few kisses and hookups they had definitely meant something.
But everything changed when they moved. She lost contact with her best friend, never talking to him again.
Her parents literally married her off, to some random man she didn't even know, (Who even did that anymore??)
She never expected her life to ever change again, until a week before her daughters tenth birthday.
Lucia was flying home from a work trip when suddenly everything went wrong.
The dead started walking.
