SHAKIR LOOKED AT HIS MOM not knowing how to feel while looking at her. He was happy to see his mom, but not in this state.

She seemed like she wasn't herself, she seemed like she was on so many drugs she couldn't tell a person what day it was.

The psych ward was supposedly the best in Los Angeles in helping rehabilitate patients. Shakir recently put her in here after she tried to commit suicide after one of her Bipolar episodes.

Her beauty still stayed with her though even with age and all that happened to her. Before his mom met Keith she was a runaway model.
(Keith is Shakirs dad's name)

Her name was Winter Thomas. But she loved Keith's last name so much she took it and eventually was named Winter Moon.

She left the modeling scene after she got pregnant with Shakir. She was born with Bipolar Personality Disorder and Depression ran through her family, but Shakir's dad was ready for the episodes.

So he thought. A couple years after Shakir was born the marriage started to fall because of her mental state. The arguing and the fighting between the two started to split them apart.

It reached its boiling part when Winter put her hands on Keith. He took Shakir and moved out. Shakir was 8 at the time.

Watching his parents, people who were supposed to love each other unconditionally soon turned to hate and despise each other.

Messed up his perspective on what love was supposed to be at a young age.

They were the reason it was hard for him to say. 'I love you too.' to Billie last night.

He opened the brown bag and pulled two bowls out of the bag. He handed one to his mom with a fork and put his bowl on his lap.

He opened his up and started to eat it. He looked at his mom who was eating hers too.

"I missed you, Mom."

Winter tilted her head and looked at Shakir and a feint smile came across her face. "I miss you too Sha Sha."

Shakir smiled and continued eating. "When can I get out of here and go back with your dad." She asked looking at her son.

Shakir stayed quiet eating his food. "When the doctors think you're ready."

Winter took a bite of her food and stayed quiet. Shakir clenched his jaw. "Mom it's this girl."

She smiled and looked at Shakir. "You got a girlfriend Sha Sha?"

Shakir sighed and made a face. "Something like that. We aren't dating."

Winter stayed quiet and allowed Shakir to continue. "But we both like each other, but she likes me way more."

"She loves you, Sha?"

Shakir shook his head. "I think. I don't know." Shakir's voice got softer. Winter wrapped her arm around her son and Shakir laid on her like he was a baby again.

"I just don't wanna hurt her." He said mumbling.

His mom heard it and began to break down. "I'm so sorry baby." She said as tears started to leak down her face.

The two stayed quiet and held each other. Shakir didn't cry, he didn't really like to cry. He saw it as himself being weak.

He used to be an emotional kid growing up, always crying when he had to leave his mom's house and vice versa.

When he grew up the times he would want to cry just turned into anger. He had to fill the emotion with another emotion.

Shakir used to wonder how different his life would be if his parents never divorced. He only got into combat sports because of his mother.
