{Cid's POV}
"This is weird....."
I muttered, walking through the desolate and barren city. It looked like an apocalypse had happened, well maybe it did considering the girl that attacked me.
I then continued on, sensing a lot more of those people from the direction where I came from.
I sigh in annoyance.
"Do these people really not give up? It reminds me a lot of Princess Iris."
I muttered, continuing on to the wrecked city.
I wasn't worried about them, not one bit. After all, I concluded that the only strong person among them was that white haired girl and I barely used a fraction of my power when I fought that one who kidnapped Alexia.
'Union was it? No, I'm pretty sure his name was Eon! Yeah, definitely.....'
To be honest, I didn't really remember the guy since he was a total mob like me, but fuck it, remembering him would be a total waste when I can focus on being Shadow.
I then stopped, feeling a presence just ahead of me, behind that huge rubble where one could hide. Behind that, I saw a person with blue hair peeking out.
"I know you're there, there's is no point in hiding, come out."
I stated, flaring up my magic for extra effect. It seemed to work since the person from the behind the rubble came to view.
It was a girl, roughly around my age. She had oceanic blue hair accompanied by amber colored eyes, she wore a black blazer with a blue necktie and a short skirt which showed her thighs.
I then secretly expanded my mana all around the place, feeling the fluctuations caused by those mech girls and the faint mana the girl exuded before me.
'Her mana is definitely larger than those people with jetpacks, yet I can't feel anything. No lingering magic effects. No traces of mana around her. It's just inside. Does she not know how to use magic?'
I thought, obesrving the trembling figure of the girl before me.

Atop Fraxinus—the airship—the commander chewed her lollipop in anxiety. Sending out her older sister is dangerous as this spirit was a new one, meaning they had no data. Add to the fact that he had defeated Origami who is considered an elite in the AST and fought with Tohka on equal grounds—for a short while—it made everyone onboard be on edge.
"Kannazuki, status."
She called out, not removing her sight from the monitor.
"Everything seems to be well commander, Shiori has made contact with codename: [Shadow] and the spirits emotion levels aren't going down, but it's not rising either."
A blond man replied typing away at the computer at a pace hard to be observed by the human eye.
Normally, the vice commander of the ship would only give insights and help the commander in making decisions. But as of that very moment, it was code red, which meant all hands on deck.
'Big sis, be safe.....'
She thought, biting the lollipop and crushing the candy.

"Speak, girl."
Shadow stated, looming over the terrified figure of Shiori. She had never felt this scared in her life, not when she saw her first horror movie, not when she took a look down a skyscraper and saw how high up she was, and certainly not when Tohka nearly sliced her in half twice!
With a trembling voice, she tried to speak, but no words came through. Shadow was patient though, no one could beat him, so why not waste a few more minutes? Maybe he'll find out some useful information.
"I-ummm, what-what's your name.....?"
Shiori stuttered out, sounding a bit unsure at the end, but Shadow knew what this developement exactly was.
'Wait a sec, she looks like a heroine for those reverse harem animes. And probably why she's like this is because she's meeting I, Shadow. Umu, I really am awesome, to make the heroine tremble in excitement upon meeting me. Wait, is she about to recruit me into her harem? Nah fam, I'm the eminence in shadow and I'll see to it that I'm still that guy till I die.'
Cid thought, being correct only on the first half.
Deciding to entertain the girl, he spoke his name. Never forgetting to flare up his mana in the process for what he calls "dramatic effects".
"My name is Shadow, I am he who lurks in the shadows and hunts the shadows."
He stated, before turning around to leave, leaving the mystery of the man clad in black. Atleast, that was the plan.
"W-wait!"
Shiori exclaimed, halting the movements of Shadow as he turned slightly to glance at the girl.
She was trembling, unbelievably so, that it amazed him that she had some courage, enough to stand even though he was flaring up a little bit of his mana.
'Interesting, though she has mana herself, she's withstanding my presence through sheer willpower alone.'
Shadow's interest piqued towards the girl, too bad taking in someone wasn't his forte, but maybe if he could find a way back maybe he could find someone to train her. Probably Alpha or Iris? Maybe even Beatrix. She had potential as she exuded—and I quote—"Main character vibes".
He then fully turned around, slightly relieving the pressure around Shiori, only around her. Feeling this, Shiori let out a sigh of relief when she felt the oppressive aura slightly lift off, allowing her to stand on her two feet again.
"Speak your mind, girl, I have places I need to be."
Shadow said, causing Shiori to get flustered as she forgot what she needed to say.
"Ask him anything! What his goal is, where he came from, anything!"
A childish voice echoed from her ear loudly, however due to being used to it for a while, she wasn't that affected anymore.
"Ummm, where are you from?"
She asked, knowing full well about how spirits don't really remember anything, but still wanted to try her shot. Maybe she could find more information regarding the spirits?
"I come from the kingdom of Midgar."
Shadow replied, gaining a dumbfounded look on Shiori. She expected him to just say that he doesn't know or that he was from around here, but from a kingdom? So he's from a medieval era? That's interesting, but she didn't read of anything that revolved around Midgar in the history books.
'Maybe a lost kingdom? Forgotten in the sands of time? Wait, what am I thinking? Why am I suddenly speaking like a chunnibyuu?'
"Anything else?"
Shadow spoke up, causing Shiori to snap out of here thoughts.
"Oh right! Do you have a real name?"
"My name? Why would you care for my name?"
With that, Shadow abruptly vanished, a sword charged with mana impaling the ground where he stood before, where the same snow white haired girl landed.
She then picked up the sword, noticing the small dent on it. The very place where her sword clashed with Shadow's slime sword.
Her brows furrowed as she sheathed her blade, and looked towards the distance.
'Shadow.....who are you?'
