The Magic Door

Chapter 8

On our way to the Babbling Brook I asked Mercy how we can defeat a mermaid, I mean they have magic don't they?
"I was able to contact the Princess and ask her to meet us there. She will be there when we arrive." Mercy said.

When we got there Princess Malia was outside just like Mercy said. I ran up to meet with Princess Malia to ask her how to defeat the mermaids.
"By your heart" she said
"My heart? How do I do that."
"By trusting your instincts and not second guessing yourself."
"I'll try."
"The mermaids weren't always evil, they used to be kind. They turned that way because of something called Ginger" Said the Princess
"Tell me more."
"A long time ago there was a robot that the Evil Warlock built before he turned evil. The machine was meant to help people with their everyday chores. One day the robot glitched and made it turn evil. The Warlock, no matter how many tests he ran couldn't fix Ginger. Days later I knocked on the Warlocks door, when I went in he tried to inject something in me. Then I figured out why. There was a syringe full of an injection serum sticking out of the Warlocks leg. I banished Ginger to the Babbling Brook, that was my first mistake. When I got there it was too late, there is no antidote strong enough, not even the Babbling Brook."

After Malia finished telling me the story I asked her what the machine the Warlock built looked like. She said it looked like a golden dome with arms. We gathered Flynn, Adora, Amira, and Mercy and formed a plan. We built a dome out of tree bark and got arms out of loose branches. We made it golden by the yellow tree sap.
"There's one thing I forgot to tell you" Malia said
"What's that?" Flynn asked with worry in his voice.
"There's one mermaid that managed to escape Gingers serum, her name is Sierra. The other mermaids locked her up at the bottom of the brook to try to suffocate her. I'm afraid if we don't save her soon it will be too late."

We released the fake Ginger into the mermaids den, Amira impersonated Ginger by saying
"I am Ginger, must divide and conquer."
It worked, they got so scared the defeated Ginger and turned good.
They didnt remember anything about Ginger or where Sierra was. When we told them the seam down to free Sierra. She was frightened at first but when we explained what happened she understood. Sierra then gave us some water and a slip of paper with strange writing on it. She said to pour it on Amira when the tide was full and to say those words.
"I'll be there to guide you, but you have to believe it for it to work."
Sierra had to translate the words on a different piece if paper because I couldn't read mermaid language. When the tide was full we layed Amira down. Then I said the spell.
"Make the woman in this spell. Turn the click around a bell. In the morning she will wake. Looking for the Babbling Lake. You will tell her that she died. Then she will feel the need to cry. When the crying is done, she'll really think the journeys done. You will tell her it's just begun. After this the spell is done." I said hopefully.
After I said this Amira awoke, first she looked for the Babbling Lake. Then she felt the need to cry and I really felt the need to poke her in the eye. Then she though the journey was done, and then she went back to her normal self.

As we were leaving the Babbling Brook, Adora noticed a field of lolly pops so we all ran to it. We started licking them as fast as we could. Then all of a sudden bubbles were flowing down from the sky and were heading right toward us. When the bubbles touched our skin, we felt weird tingling in our fingertips. Suddenly we discovered that we had necklaces around our necks, even Mercy and Pearl. The necklaces had glowing amulets on them, each one of us got a different color. Adoras was pink, mine was turquoise, Flynns was green, Pearls was purple, Amira's was red, and Mercy's was orange. As soon as Adora touched her amulet she disappeared. Shortly after this we discovered that these amulets gave us special abilities. Adora can turn invisible, Flynn has super speed, I have water bombs. Amira has force fields {which would have been handy earlier} Pearl has boomerangs, and Mercy has super strength.
Kaylee was using her peers like crazy every time I looked back she was tickling Pearl while she was invisible.
