Ch. 7: Reflections

"Not bad for a first day!"

The Ninja were now relaxing in their shared apartment, all dressed in their pajamas since they wanted to be comfy. Cole was lounging on the couch, Nya was at the desk, and everyone else was sitting on the floor.

Nya looked over at Cole, who had spoken earlier. "Yeah, besides the whole expulsion thing it was pretty good." Her expression then shifted into a concerned one. "But there's also the problem of the fact that he tried to erase our powers. We didn't get called out for it then but I don't think he's gonna just forget."

"Maybe he will. As long as no one brings it up and we pretend to lose our powers whenever he looks at us." Cole said optimistically.

"That's easier said than done."

"Still hung up on how he scared us all like that," Jay huffed, crossing his arms. Seriously! Not even Master Wu would do that! Or would he?

"It was effective in pushing everyone to do their best," Zane said. "People often work better under pressure. Or in this case, harder."

"I'll say. That explosion kid is a try-hard," Kai snorted, recalling how feral the boy looked the whole time . "Try-hard doesn't even cut it, that guy has anger issues that dwarfs you and Nya's. Remember how he tried to attack the green haired kid?" Cole brought up, grabbing a soda bottle. For someone who wanted to be a hero, he didn't act very hero-like.

"Weren't you stuck with him for the exam Zane? Boy that must've been chaotic," Jay said, shaking his head as he imagined himself in the same scenario, yikes.

"Yes. But I am honestly more interested in the powers our classmates have displayed," Zane responded. "I noticed that a lot of them are familiar to those of our fellow Elemental Masters back home."

"Oh yeah you're right! That gravity girl basically has Gravis's powers, accept she has to touch things to make them float and she can't control them once she does," Jay said, thinking back to Ururaka's abilities. She wasn't able to control gravity as a whole, but she could dispel the gravitational pull from objects or people.

"Kyoka can amplify and intercept sound waves with her ear jacks. So she's kinda like Jacob," Nya added.

"Denki can use lightning like me! But he can only generate it, and doing too much fries his brain," Jay was thinking of whipping up an invention that could help Denki not fry his brain should he overload. Would the support course let him experiment in there?

"And the invisible girl is literally just Mr. Pale," Kai said bluntly. He was assuming that there had to be more to it than just being invisible.

"Does Tenya count? He's not as fast as Griffin but speed still is his thing," Nya pondered.

"Ha! You guys are forgetting the main one! What about that dual haired kid? The one with the scar? He can use ice like Zane!" Cole grinned.

"He only ever uses his right side to generate ice I've noticed. I also noticed that he's constantly regulating his own temperature with heat so the hypothermia doesn't affect him," Zane imputed, recalling the thermal scans he did purely out of curiosity.

"So he can probably use fire too? That explains the hair," Kai said with a grin. He wondered if he'd get to battle against him.

"A guy that can use two elements, boy that takes me back. Remember when you used all our elements Lloyd?" Jay chuckled, but his grin vanished as he noticed Lloyd's far away expression.
