Stiles groggily opened his eyes to the sound of his alarm blaring. He rubbed his face, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep, and glanced at the clock. It was time to get the twins up and ready for school. He swung his legs out of bed and made his way to their room.
"Eli, Cassie, time to get up," he called out as he entered. Eli was already sitting up, rubbing his eyes, but Cassie was still burrowed under her covers.
"Cassie, come on," Stiles urged, pulling the blanket back.
"Nooo, I don't want to," Cassie groaned, swatting at him.
"Eli, help me out here," Stiles said, but Eli just grinned mischievously and started bouncing on his bed.
"Come on, guys, we don't have time for this," Stiles said, frustration creeping into his voice. Cassie finally sat up, but then Eli started poking her, and she retaliated by smacking him with a pillow.
"That's it," Stiles muttered. He took a deep breath and yelled, "Derek! I need some help in here!"
A moment later, Derek appeared in the doorway, looking mildly amused. "What's going on?"
"The twins are being difficult," Stiles said, throwing his hands up.
Derek walked over to the bed and gave Eli a stern look. "Eli, stop poking your sister and get dressed."
Eli pouted but complied, and Cassie followed suit. With Derek's presence, the twins finally started to cooperate. Stiles sighed in relief and headed downstairs to get breakfast ready.
Peter was already up, lounging in the chair with a cup of coffee. "Rough morning?" he asked with a smirk.
"You have no idea," Stiles replied, grabbing a few granola bars and fruits. "Can you make their lunches? I need to get their bags ready."
Peter nodded and stood up, heading to the kitchen. As Stiles packed the twins' bags, he could hear the sound of Peter rummaging through the fridge and preparing their lunches. The clinking of jars and rustling of sandwich bags was a familiar, comforting noise.
"Eli, slow down!" Stiles yelled suddenly as he heard the sound of small, rapid footsteps coming down the stairs. Eli shot into the kitchen like a bullet, nearly knocking over a chair. Peter caught him just in time.
"Gotcha," Peter said, holding Eli by the shoulders. "No running in the house, kiddo."
Eli grinned sheepishly. "Sorry, Uncle Peter."
Stiles walked in, carrying the twins' backpacks. "Thanks, Peter. Sometimes I think he has a turbo mode."
Derek joined them with Cassie, who was finally dressed and ready. "Alright, let's get moving," he said, taking one of the backpacks from Stiles.
They all made their way to the car, a familiar routine by now. Stiles helped buckle the twins into their seats, double-checking that everything was in order.
As Derek pulled up to the school, he turned to the back seat. "Have a great day, you two. Behave, okay?"
"Bye, Daddy!" Cassie said sweetly, leaning forward to give him a kiss on the cheek. Eli waved energetically as he hopped out of the car.
"Bye, Dad! Bye, Stiles!" Eli said, his enthusiasm making Stiles smile.
"See you later, buddy," Stiles said, watching as the twins headed into the school building.
Neither Derek nor Stiles noticed Cassie's subtle move as she slipped Derek's phone into her pocket before getting out of the car.
As they drove away, Derek glanced at Stiles. "Thanks for helping out this morning. I don't know how you manage it every day."
