The first light of dawn was just starting to seep through the curtains when Derek felt a gentle shake on his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see Cora standing beside his bed, her expression serious yet soft.

"Der, you need to see this," she whispered.

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Derek got up and followed Cora out to the living room. As they approached, he heard soft music playing and the sound of laughter. The sight that greeted him when he entered the room made him stop in his tracks.

In the middle of the living room, Peter and Stiles were dancing with Cassie and Eli. Cassie stood on Peter's feet, her face lit up with a radiant smile, while Eli was perched on Stiles' shoulders, giggling uncontrollably as Stiles spun around. Peter's usual aloof demeanor was replaced with a rare softness, and Stiles' eyes sparkled with joy and relief.

The room was filled with an infectious energy, a stark contrast to the tension and fear of the previous night. For a moment, everything seemed perfect. Derek felt a lump in his throat as he watched his family, the people he loved most in the world, finding a way to celebrate life despite the shadows that sometimes threatened to overwhelm them.

Cassie spotted Derek and beamed. "Dad, come join us!"

Eli chimed in, "Yeah, come dance with us, Dad!"

Derek couldn't help but smile. He walked over, and Stiles, with Eli still on his shoulders, gave him a playful wink. "Come on, Derek. You can't just stand there. We need more dance partners."

Derek chuckled and took Cassie's hand as she reached out to him, pulling her into a gentle twirl. Peter handed over the makeshift dance partner role to Derek, who seamlessly took over, making Cassie laugh as he lifted her up and spun her around.

Cora stood off to the side, watching with a soft smile, and eventually joined in, dancing with Peter and creating a joyful chaos in the living room. The music played on, and for that moment, everything felt right.

Stiles eventually set Eli down, and the little boy ran over to join Derek and Cassie, making them all laugh as he tried to keep up with their moves. Stiles moved over to Cora, taking her hand with a playful bow, and the two started to dance, much to Peter's amusement.

The morning continued with laughter, dancing, and a sense of unity that Derek cherished deeply. As the music played, he felt grateful for this family they had built together—a family that could find joy and strength in each other, no matter what challenges they faced.

After a while, they all collapsed onto the couches, breathless and happy. Cassie snuggled up next to Derek, her eyes starting to droop with sleepiness. Eli lays on Stiles resting his head on his shoulder.

Peter stretched and let out a satisfied sigh. "I have to admit, that was a good start to the day."

Cora nodded, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "We should do this more often."

Derek wrapped an arm around Cassie and looked around at his family. "Yeah, we should."

At that moment, with the morning sun streaming in and the sounds of laughter still echoing in his ears, Derek felt an overwhelming sense of peace. They had faced their share of darkness, but together, they could always find the light.

Stiles, still catching his breath from the dance session, looked around at the happy, faces of his family. An idea sparked in his mind, and a grin spread across his face.

"You know what? I'm off today," he announced, catching everyone's attention. "How about we have some fun and start training Cassie for her wolf and witch abilities, and Eli for his wolf abilities?"

Cassie's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really? We get to train today?"

Eli, equally enthusiastic, bounced on the couch "Yes! I wanna learn to be a wolf-like Dad!"

Derek chuckled, giving Stiles an appreciative look. "Sounds like a great plan. It's about time we started their training."

Peter leaned back, looking intrigued. "I'm curious to see how this goes. Count me in."

Cora nodded, smiling at the kids' excitement. "Me too. This should be interesting."

With a plan in mind, the group quickly finished their breakfast and gathered in the spacious backyard. The morning sun was bright, casting a warm glow over the training area they had set up.

"Alright, let's start with some basic exercises," Stiles said, taking charge. "Cassie, since you have both wolf and witch abilities, we'll focus on controlling your shifts and some basic magic spells. Eli, we'll work on your shifting and physical strength."

Cassie and Eli nodded eagerly, ready to begin.

Stiles led Cassie to a clear spot in the yard. "Okay, Cassie. First, we're going to work on your wolf senses. Close your eyes and focus on the sounds around you. Try to identify each one."

Cassie closed her eyes, concentrating hard. Stiles watched her, offering encouragement and tips as she gradually improved her ability to distinguish between different sounds.

Meanwhile, Derek worked with Eli on shifting. "Remember, Eli, it's all about control. Don't force it. Just feel the change and let it happen naturally."

Eli scrunched up his face in concentration, and after a few moments, his eyes flashed yellow, and his fangs appeared. then he fell unconscious Derek smiled proudly. "Good job, buddy. Now, let's work on staying conscious."

Cora and Peter took turns demonstrating various techniques and exercises, helping the kids with their balance, reflexes, and control. Stiles occasionally stepped in to assist, especially when it came to the magical aspects of Cassie's training.

"Let's try a simple spell, Cassie," Stiles said, holding out a small feather. "I want you to focus on making this feather levitate. Use your inner energy and visualize it floating."

Cassie furrowed her brow, concentrating on the feather. After a few tries, it began to rise slowly into the air. She gasped in delight, and Stiles gave her an encouraging smile. "Great job! Keep practicing, and it'll get easier."

The morning was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a few minor mishaps that only added to the fun. As the sun climbed higher, they took a break for lunch, enjoying a picnic in the backyard.

"This is fun," Cassie said between bites of her sandwich. "I like training."

Eli nodded enthusiastically, his mouth full of food. "Me too! I wanna be a strong wolf-like Dad ."

Derek ruffled Eli's hair, smiling. "You will be, Eli. Both of you will be amazing."

After lunch, they resumed their training, this time incorporating some playful elements to keep the kids engaged. They played games that also served as training exercises, like hide-and-seek to hone their senses and tag to improve their speed and agility.

As the day drew to a close, Cassie and Eli were tired but happy, their progress evident. They had both shown remarkable improvement, and their confidence had grown.

Stiles gathered everyone in a circle. "Great job today, everyone. Cassie and Eli, you both did fantastic. We're going to keep working on this, but for now, let's just enjoy the evening together."

The family spent the rest of the evening relaxing, sharing stories, and enjoying each other's company. As the sun set, Stiles looked around at his family, feeling a deep sense of contentment. Today had been a perfect blend of fun and learning, strengthening their bonds and setting the foundation for the future.

And in that moment, surrounded by laughter and love, Stiles knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as a family.
