Every Now and Then

The first week of school is finally over and it's the weekend. Tammy, Trina and I were headed home from school together.

"There's a party tomorrow night and I think we should go."

Me and Trina Damn near broke our necks to look at Tammy in the back seat.

"Hell done frozen over. Tammy actually wants to go to a party" Trina said

"Who's party is it ?" I asked

"Just a friend. They invited us now do y'all want to go or not?"

Before we could answer Trinas phone rang and she put it on speaker.

"Hey babe. What's up ?"

"Nothing much, you home yet?"

"We pulling up right now"

"So Marcus is throwing a party tonight and he wants y'all to come through. Y'all down?"

"Yeah we'll come by. I'm heading in bae I'll talk to you later"

Trina turned to look at Tammy but she'd already went inside.

"This girl think she slick" she said laughing "I don't know why she won't just admit to liking him"

"She stubborn just like you so she won't admit" I said heading in

Saturday morning.......

I got up a little earlier and got ready to head to the library. I went in the den and found Uncle dre on the phone. I waited until he got off to tell him I was heading out.

"You want me to have rocko go with you"

"No I'll be fine. I'm just going to pick up a book for my English class and come back"

I told him I would take the bus there and that's where he drew the line and handed the keys to his bmw.

"Don't wreck it. You my baby girl but that's my second wife. She was my first but you know how your aunt can get" I just laughed, thanked him then headed towards the library.

When I got there I had to make a card and as I was waiting my phone rung it was Trina.

"Hey trick where you at?"

"Goodmorning Trina." I replied. This girl too much I swear.

"I didn't ask for all that .... where you at?"

"Library I'm picking up that English book and maybe staying to write that summer reading essay"

"Ugh I forget how we related at times. We headed to the mall to pick up some outfits for tonight. Do you want us to pick something up for you?"

"Mmhh I don't think Imma make it tonight I have to get started on this book and ..."

"Alright... i get a headache thinking about school" she groaned

"Its only the first week Trina " I replied taking the card from the librarian and mouthing 'thank you'

"Exactly! And I'm already over it"

"Yeah well you better suck it up because it's our last year." I said turning to sit and wait for my book and bumping into a hard figure.

"I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention " a familiar voice said.

I looked up and couldn't even reply. After a few second he spoke. "I'll call you back" I said to Trina

"Sareah right?"
