45 minutes later
I exhaled a breath of relief as the clock struck 10:15am, signalling us that math class was over. I packed up my belongings before exiting the class quickly, hoping Mr Maze doesn't try to keep me back again to talk about his personal problems with me. I raced out to Taylor and Celine, who were outside of our next class- biology. I sighed when I saw them, and I smiled at them, us all talking about the system and the possibility of new employees.
"I bet that she deserved it... oh, look what the cat dragged in." I sighed and rolled my eyes before turning around to face the fake blonde in front of me. She wore 5 inch beige heels to make herself seem taller than what she was, her tight navy blue dress that was clearly small for her stopped at her mid thigh, and her face was full of a natural look of makeup. The term "slut" wasn't a type of word I'd use, ever. But that's what she was, a slut. Bethany Kane meant trouble, everywhere she went, everything she did- it was chaos.
Bethany has been tormenting me since 2nd grade, but I've never retaliated against her pranks or cruel words, because that's not what I've been teaching myself. Going from foster home to foster home since early childhood, you end up teaching yourself how to behave, cook, clean, look after yourself and others, and thankfully no one has ever found out that little secret of mine. That I'm a foster child.
Especially her. If she found out, she wouldn't let me live it down, or anyone, and I'd be the laughing stock of school forever. Even when I'm out of here, I'll still be tormented and haunted by the words of mockery and laughs of shame that she and others caused. I hope that never happens, or I'll let the world swallow me whole. I politely smiled at her "Bethany." She scowled at me as her name left my lips, and I internally smirked at it "you're a freak." I heard her minions snicker behind her and Celine approached me from behind, biting at Bethany "fuck off, Bethany, yeah? You got nothing better to do with your life because mummy and daddy don't love you enough?"
Everyone that was approaching the classroom, and some other by-passers that were walking stopped and 'ooo'ed at her remark to Bethany, who stood still. So still that she resembled a statue, and everyone flickered their gazes between her and the slightly short dark haired girl beside me, entranced in the sudden drama. I looked at Taylor, who just shrugged at me, and I took the opportunity to grab Celine gently by her arm to stop her from glaring at Bethany like she would chainsaw alive right then and there with her eyes, and Bethany chuckled "what a pussy you are, Greene."
At hearing this, something inside her snapped, and Celine lunged at Bethany, roaring loudly and slicing her with her nails. I flinched on horror and stayed silent as she beat my bully of 9 years on the ground. In front of class. Thankfully, our teacher, Mrs Callahan came shortly after and stopped the fight between the two girls to prevent any more damage. Bethany wasn't bruised badly or that bloody, but she would definitely have a couple of weeks to fully heal, while Celine has not a scratch on her.
