Mitsuri and I were paired up by the master to go on a mission together today. There's been reports of many people, mostly women, going missing in a town about half a day's walk from the Butterfly Mansion.

I'm at the front of the mansion at the moment, waiting for Kanroji to come out so we can leave.

"Obanai-kun~!" I hear her say as she emerges through the front entrance.

I already know I'm blushing.

"Hey," I say. "Let's go. The town is a ways away."

She nods, a smile on her face. She  stays by my side as we begin walking.

"We obviously can't walk for 12 hours straight, so we're going to have to stop in some of the towns we pass by," I explain, glancing at her as we begin down the dirt road.

"Oh, I know- I'm just wondering what kinda of food will be there~!" She says excitedly.

Really?

She's thinking about the food?

"Probably similar to what we have here..." I mumble.

I mean, I honestly think it's cute...

HSWJSOILD WHO SAID THAT NOT ME HAHA

"If it's only similar, it's not the same! Plus, we're going to need lots of protein for our mission!" She says, adding hand movements as she speaks.

I nod in agreement. "That's also true, I suppose."

We've been walking for a ways now. A couple hours. Mitsuri has been ranting about random topics that surface, and I've been tentatively listening.

We're in a village at the moment, looking for some place we can rest for a little while, before continuing our journey until dark.

"Obanai-kun... can we pleeeaseeeee go try out different places to eat~?" She pleads, even though I've already said we only need to go to one place.

"Mitsuri-chan- we need one meal for the rest of our walk today, and some extra for walking later and tomorrow. We don't need to go to every eatery here.." I mumble, a little upset that I'm having to refuse her something like this.

"Can we go to two places then~?" She asks as we walk down the paths of the town, getting a few looks from passersby.

I hesitate to respond, before letting out a defeated sigh.

How am I supposed to say no to someone so sickeningly adorable?

"...Fine. But only two."

She pulls me into a tight embrace, and I feel my cheeks flush red.

"Kyaaa~! Yay~!" She squeals, resting her face against mine.

I just let it happen, and lean into her.

I-I'm not getting lost in her eyes, you are!

(A/N: Mitsuri has the best eye color of the hashira change my mind)

"Can we go eat now..?" She asks, soon letting go of me. I immediately miss her touch.

"It would be a late lunch, so I suppose so.." I respond, continuing to walk between the buildings and people.

A little ways further down, I feel Mitsuri take my hand in hers.

I feel myself blush profusely, and I look over at her.

She's smiling happily, looking straight ahead.

Maybe I will come with her to a few more restaurants...
