"True friends are like stars."
This Sunday, while Jiah, Yura, and Chloe were sitting in the cafe, talking about their lives, Chloe suddenly asked, "Yura, when is the announcement of you being the CEO?"
"This Wednesday," Yura answered, feeling proud.
"Damn, girl! Can I be your sugar baby?" Chloe asked Yura in a very serious tone.
"Girl, what the fuck?" Yura and Jiah asked her, giving her side eyes.
"Yeah, whatever," Chloe answered with a shrug.
"Well, Jiah, when is the inauguration of your law firm?" Yura chimed in and asked.
"Next month. I can't believe my dreams are finally coming true," Jiah answered, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Of course, your dreams had to come true. You worked really hard for it," Yura told Jiah, feeling proud of her best friend's achievement.
"Damn, you both rich girls. Can you two adopt this poor piece of shit as your sugar baby?" Chloe asked, pouting playfully.
"Chloe, trust me, shut up," Yura said, judging her really hard.
"I'm married, Chloe," Jiah said, rolling her eyes.
"Oh, right! Remembering you're married, how is married life going?" asked Chloe, turning serious. Yura also turned around, waiting for the answer.
"Don't ask me. It's like we both are getting distant from each other day by day. Small fights lead to misunderstandings, and Cheol has made a habit of coming home late at night," Jiah confided, her voice tinged with sadness.
"That sounds tough, Jiah. Have you talked to him about it?" Yura asked, concern in her eyes.
"I've tried, but it just feels like we're speaking different languages sometimes," Jiah replied. "He says work is overwhelming, but I can't help feeling neglected."
"You two need to have a proper conversation. Maybe take some time off and really talk things through," Chloe suggested, her tone serious for once.
"Yeah, you both love each other. This is just a rough patch," Yura added encouragingly. "Maybe plan a weekend getaway or something?"
Jiah sighed, "Maybe you're right. I just don't want us to drift apart more than we already have."
Chloe reached over and squeezed Jiah's hand. "We're here for you, girl. Always."
"Thanks, guys. I really needed this talk," Jiah said, feeling a bit lighter.
"Anytime," Yura smiled. "And hey, let's not forget to celebrate our achievements too. Next month, we will all be there for your law firm inauguration, and I'll bring the best wine."
"And I'll bring the snacks!" Chloe added enthusiastically, making everyone laugh.
"Do you remember the time in high school when Seungcheol tried to surprise you with a romantic picnic, but it started raining, and you both ended up soaked and laughing in the park?" Yura reminisced, trying to lighten the mood.
Jiah chuckled, "Yeah, that was one of the best dates ever. It's those moments I miss."
"Well, you can have those moments again," Chloe said. "Maybe remind him of that day. Sometimes, a little nostalgia can help reignite the spark."
"I hope so," Jiah replied softly. "It's just hard to find the time with everything going on."
"Make the time, Jiah," Yura advised. "You both deserve to be happy."
"Speaking of time, what do you think about us planning a girls' night out next week?" Chloe suggested. "No husband, no work, just us."
"That sounds perfect," Jiah said, smiling genuinely. "I could really use that."
"Then it's settled," Yura said. "We'll make it a night to remember."
They continued their chat, supporting each other through their highs and lows, knowing that no matter what, their friendship would always be a source of strength. Jiah felt grateful for her friends' unwavering support and hoped that their advice would help her navigate the challenges in her marriage.
"Love is a choice you make every day."
