"The volleyball player is not a soloist but a member of an orchestra... when the player begins to think, 'I am special,' that player is finished."
Watching him play was like a car crash, it was something you couldn't look away from for you never want to watch someone crash and burn but oh was it satisfying to see someone you despise fall off their podium.
"All the setting, the serving, the hitting... I'd rather do it myself. Because I know I can receive that serve. I know I can set the ball in the perfect spot. I know I can spike it for a kill." Kageyama had confided in his long haired manager one day before a game.
She looked at him like he was the dumbest person in the world. "Volleyball can not be played alone. You need to stop acting like you're the best. Or they're all going to leave you in the dust." and she was right.
"When I put the ball up... there was no one there." He was warned but he wanted more. But you know what they say about Icarus...
"Yashi! Can you please send me footage of the 3-on-3?" Oikawa pouted with his hands clasped together. "Absolutely not, Tōru. I gotta go now. See you later!"

Kinoshita was helping Hayashi stretch out his arms and legs when Shimizu walked into the gym, causing Kinoshita to pull a little harder. "Ow! Kino, can you not pull so hard. I need my arms and legs to be intact."
"Sorry, Yashi!" Kinoshita's blushing face never looked away from their gorgeous, black-haired manager. Hayashi could definitely see the appeal of the older girl but for the team to act so crazy around her astounded him.
It's like I'm back at Aoba Johsai. I swear.... Daichi called for them to get started. "Hayashi will be on Tsukishima and Yamaguchi's team to even up the numbers."
"What! Captain, is that fair?'
"It seems completely fair. Two first years, and a second year. Not to mention this will be my first time actually playing volleyball." Hayashi admitted walking to Tsukishima and Yamaguchi's side.
"Wait What!? But you were so good during-" Tanaka elbowed the ginger to stop him from spilling their secret meetings to the whole team. Hayashi nodded.
"Just because I have never played a game doesn't mean I don't practise. I was the team manager of Kitagawa First and Aoba Johsai. I've been playing volleyball since I can remember." Hinata's jaw dropped. Hayashi was just as inexperienced as him.
"So no need to worry, Hinata. Just relax today and have fun. I'm sure that won't be a problem for you, seeing how much you love volleyball." Hinata nodded at Daichi's words.
Tsukishima leaned down slightly to 'whisper' in Hayashi's ear. "The buzz cut or the shorty, who to crush? I mean challenge first. So hard to choose. But I do know I'd like to save his highness for last." Yamaguchi pulled on Tsukishima' sweatshirt.
"Tsukki, they can hear you. Be careful." Hayashi smiled at the green-haired boy. "He knows. He is trying to rile them up."
"I can't wait to watch the king fall apart out there!" Tsukishima glances at Kageyama. "You might be in for a rough time, Tsukki." Hayashi teased, getting into position on their side.
Icarus is ready for another flight and might just make it this time.

Tsukishima went to block Tanaka's spike but the ball broke through and flew off Tsukishima's right hand to the ground. Hayashi frowned, knowing that he might have made it but didn't want to risk running into the pole or Shimuzu.
