I woke up the next day to find my mother packing up my last few things in my luggage. I was finally moving to Elverum, Norway. I found my brothers waiting for me as I went downstairs to the living room. I hugged them goodbye as my bus arrived.
This was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I was finally leaving my family, moving to Norway. I was assigned to live there for some years to work on my music. It was time to leave my old life in Malmo and move to Elverum, which wasn't quite far.
I arrived to Elverum and I faced my new house, which was already established with all the furniture and music studio. I looked at the next door's house which wasn't quite different from mine. I unlocked the door to find an enormous corridor, with stairs leading to my bedroom. I unpacked all my luggage and filled my room with decorations. I decorated my studio and placed my instruments in their place. I could feel the cool breeze in my hair, and I decided to go in my back yard. I saw a white fence, revealing a Golden Retriever on the other side of the fence, in the neighbours back yard. The fence wasn't high, and I could see the dog clearly. I walked to the fence, and he jumped over. "Tico!" I heard a voice calling and a young man around my age run the fence. The dog jumped on me with excitement and I patted it. I looked up at the man and he smiled.
"Hey," he told me.
"Hey! I'm Amelia Jensen," I told him.
"Marcus Gunnarsen. You're new here?" He asked and I nodded.
"I moved in here! I guess we're neighbours!" I smiled.
"I'm sorry! My dog is gets really excited when other people come near him to pet him," He chuckled and I nodded.
"It's fine! Its great to know I have someone to relay on!" I laughed and patted him.
"Tico, come!" He called and Tico jumped over.
"Marcus. Hva gjør du? (What are you doing)" another man, who looked exactly like Marcus came out.
"This is our new neighbour!" Marcus introduced me.
"Hey. Nice to meet you!" I told him.
"Come on Marcus!" he ignored me and took Tico inside.
"I'm sorry. He's my brother, Martinus," Marcus turned to face me.
"No no. It's fine! I get it, introverts! Are you twins?" I asked.
"Yes," he nodded and I laughed.
"I mean. I realised but you know. Just making sure I'm not seeing double! You should go, and I need to finish unpacking!" I told Marcus.
"Alright. I'll see you around!" He told me and I nodded.I left inside and took a quick shower.
He was a nice guy! Brown hazel eyes, curly hair and an Unforgettable voice. His twin had straighter hair, and a beauty spot on his lip. I met my new neighbours, or... 1 and a half, the half being his attitude.
I sat on my bed, till I heard a knock on the door. I went downstairs to reply the door. I found Marcus and his brother with Tico holding flowers, chocolates and a small box.
"Hey Amelia!" Marcus told me and passed me the flowers.
"I'm Martinus," he muttered.
"Nice to meet you," I smiled and then Tico passed me the chocolates from his mouth.
"Something small... We got to go," Marcus said and they left. I closed the door behind them and placed the presents on the table. I opened the card and read the message.Hello New Neighbour.
I'm sorry for this morning. My brother was annoyed, but I talked a way through it. I can't wait to get to know you more! We have a game tomorrow. Would you like to come? - Marcus.Sorry for this morning. Don't listen to Marcus! -Martinus.
I laughed at the message and smiled. I loved how I quickly made friends with my new neighbour, and I wouldn't need to feel lonely. I immediately felt loved even though we just met. I just had a good feeling about these boys! Making friends at home wasn't my thing. Everyone saw me as a crazy and weird girl at school. I only had a best friend who left in 9th Form. I made other good friends who only used me to bully me. My trust was broken from all those friendships because you know you can't trust anyone else. My childhood was the best time ever. I would ran around the beach, play with my friends, paint nails and style hair. But once you get older you realise that all your childhood wasn't reality. That other girls around you age went through worse then you. They wouldn't celebrate their birthdays, nor had friends. And know how it feels like. I just feel my inner child trying to find a safe spot to show its true space. I hope that they can make her feel safe and build trust on them.
