The Hogwarts Express made it. The students walk off the train, heading to the boats. Jo walks with Ron and Harry and sits with them. As at the boats made port. She walks in with them. She follows everyone and stays with the first years. There stood a blonde. He walks over to the three and stares at them. "Hand-me-down robes. Red hair. You must be a Weasley." Then looks at Harry and Jo. "You shouldn't be hanging with the wrong sort. My name is Draco. Draco Malfoy."
"I know the wrong sort when I see it." Harry said.
Draco gives him and gets stopped before he could speak again. There stood a professor. Also the head of Gryffindor. She stands in front of everyone and introduces herself. Everyone listens and follows her into the great hall after she gave a small speech. All of them stand in front of everyone and was presented with the sorting hat. Each person was called up by their names. Being sorted into their houses. Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Harry was called and was sorted into Gryffindor.
"Jo Riddle."
The professors went silent and one just stared at her. She watches him as she walks up and sits down. A man in all black with medium length black hair. The hat was placed and she kept calm. The hat shouts "Slytherin!" She gets up and heads to their table and took a seat. Everyone went silent and looks over to the Head Master. Albus Dumbledore. He makes an announcement and introduces the new Defense Against The Dark Arts professor. Applause everywhere to be heard. As she listens, she noticed the same man looking at her. She looks at an older student and asks "Who is that?" Not remembering who he is, because she hasn't seen him since she was around four years old.
"That's professor Snape. He teaches potions and is head of our house. Try to be on his good side. He doesn't like people much."
Jo nods and begins to eat. As she eats. She catches Draco looking at her.
"So you must be the one my father mentioned to me."
Jo looks at him "What do you mean?"
"My father said I would officially be able to meet you. Best to stay away from that mudblood. Non magical parents. Pathetic. Stick with the purebloods. Having pure magical blood makes you better than those halfbloods and mudbloods."
Jo raises her eyebrow "But they are here. At the best school to learn magic like us."
"Doesn't matter. They are below us."
Jo sighs softly and nods
Draco smiles and knows his father asked him to keep her at bay, knowing that is her father's wishes.
After eating, Jo follows the Prefect to the common room. She looks around and admires everything. She smiles happily and Draco notices.
"Excited ain't you?"
"I am Draco. It's beautiful here. I love the green. It's my favorite color." She stated.
Draco smiled watching her. Captivated by who she is.
"We must get some rest. We start our classes tomorrow."
Jo nods and heads to the girls room. She looks around at the beds and sits on one. She sees her robes and picks them up. She gently brushes her fingers across them and closes her eyes. After she took in the moment of becoming an official student of Hogwarts. She gets into her pajamas and goes to bed. She sleeps peacefully and was out cold. In a deep deep sleep. Hoping she made her father proud.
As it hits morning, Jo wakes up and gets into her robes. She takes a deep breath and heads to class. Her first class is potions, with professor Snape. She takes a seat and next to her is Draco. He quickly sat by her before anyone else could. Jo looked at him "In a bit of a rush ain't you?"
Draco smiles "To miss sitting by hopefully a friend."
Jo chuckles "Charmer ain't ya?"
Draco smirks and nods
Snape walks in and looks at them "Now. There will be no fooling wand-waving or silly incarnations in this class."
Jo looks at Snape and sees him looking at her. She quickly looks down.
Snape clears his throat and begins the lesson. Jo looks back up and listens to him. As she watches his body language, to see what she is up against and to know what to do and what not to do. It gives her advantage of how to properly behave around certain people.
As the class goes on. She notices Snape watching her. As she practices on making a potion. Wondering why he is looking at her.
Draco noticed and quickly looks over. As he does, Snape looked away. He looks at Jo "Does it bother you when people stare?" He asks quietly.
"A bit."
"Why may that be?"
Jo looks at Draco "I rather not answer. You'll probably run. Like many has before."
Draco raises his eyebrows and shrugs it off.
As class ended, Jo walks to her next class. Seeing Draco follow her. She looks at him and looks away. Wondering why he is following her. She just sticks to herself as she walks down the corridors and heads into class.
As the classes go by, she notices Draco is in each of them. Always sitting next to her and talking to her. She sighs softly and caves in. The more she let him into her life, the more she started to speak to him. Making a friend. She finds it enjoyable since she never had a real friend before.
But one thing she is trying to figure out is...
Is he related to the man she knows, who been helping take care of her since her father fell weak.
Only time will tell.
