"It's been a crazy first few days. The hate towards half-bloods and mudbloods is absolutely disgusting. I don't get how there is so much hate... I wish I could change the views of others. Yes, their blood status is different. But it doesn't make them less. At all. In my opinion anyways."
Jo sighs as she closes her journal. She left her common room after putting it away in a secret place. She heads to potions class and takes a seat. She sees Draco sit beside her and he smiled at her. As she was about to speak, Snape walks in. She sees him staring at her. She raises her eyebrow.
"Ms. Riddle. I hope to assume safely you got everything you need for today's lesson?"
"Yes Professor Snape. I gathered everything I needed."
"Good. Don't disappoint me."
Draco looks at Jo "He really seems to like you. He is usually in a foul mood. Perks of being a Slytherin. He treats his house well."
Jo raises her eyebrow "I suppose."
The class has started and Jo begins taking notes, she listens to everything Snape says. After listening, she begins to brew her potion. She focuses and ignores Draco trying to speak to her. She adds the ingredients and stirs her cauldron, she keeps her focus and finishes the potion. She sees Snape walking over and inspects it.
"Mmmm. Good job Ms. Riddle. You actually did rather well on this potion. Ten points to Slytherin." Then he walks away.
Jo smiles happily knowing she did rather well. More so she gained house points.
"With the way you're going. We may win the house cup." Draco said.
"I hope so. I can tell my father when I see him." Jo said happily.
Draco looks at her "You and your father must be close?"
Jo sighs "A bit, he's been weak and others been taking care of me. He... um got really sick. I haven't been able to see him unfortunately."
"What about your mum?"
Jo sighs again "That's a different story... rather not talk about it. Especially in front of everyone else."
Draco takes Jo's hand and takes her somewhere private "You can tell me. Your secret is safe with me."
"You promise?" Jo asks
Draco nods
"My mum is locked up in Azkaban..."
"Whoa. What's her name?"
Jo looks around and back at Draco "Luciana."
Draco's eyes widen "The Luciana? The dark lady yes?"
Jo nods "She and my father married, she got locked away for doing an unforgivable curse. She did it to protect me. I been hanging out with everyone that follows my father, the ones who haven't been locked away to say the least. I even have a pet Basilisk at home. Her name is Lilith. She is pretty much my daughter. She was a gift from my father when I turned to eight. I can't wait to see her again. Introduce her to King, my toad."
Draco smirks "Big snake you got. Hopefully she doesn't eat him."
"She's still growing actually. She stays close to me everywhere I go."
Draco smiles "That's rather interesting. A girl and her snake. Sounds dangerous and fun. But anyways, we should head to our next class. Don't need to disappoint your father for being late." He said.
Jo smiles "Yeah. We shouldn't be late."
Jo and Draco walk to their next class, flying. So exciting. She enjoys the class. But she enjoys Defense Against The Dark Arts. She listens to Madam Hooch as class started. She watches those around her trying to get their brooms up. She placed her hand over her broom and shouts "UP!" And it came up. She mounted her broom and kicks up. Keeping a hover over the ground.
"Lovely Ms. Riddle, perfect posture. Perfect hovering. Self control. Natural. Ten points to Slytherin."
Jo touches the ground gently and dismounts off her broom. She lets the lecture finish and class is over. She puts her broom away and heads to her next class, enjoying Hogwarts. Besides the blood status hate. Once she gets to DADA class. She takes a seat and is sitting by Hermione. She looks at her.
"Hello Jo. I heard much about you. My name is Hermione."
Jo smiles "It's a pleasure to meet you."
Draco clears his throat and Jo looks at him "What?" She asks
Draco shakes his head and words 'Mudblood.'
Jo rolls her eyes and goes back to talking to Hermione.
As the day comes to an end, Jo is in the great hall eating dinner. She finishes and stood up, heading to the common room. She walks past everyone and keeps to herself. She sighs softly. As whispers filled the air about her being too ahead for a first year. Like it's her fault she grew up learning this stuff, so she wasn't so clueless when she started.
"How are you so good with the Dark Arts class?" A student asked with a sneer in her voice, hinting with jealousy.
Jo looked at her "Because unlike your small feeble mind, I studied and practiced before getting into here. So do me a favor and shut your mouth." And walked away. She walks away, keeping to herself. She eventually makes it to the common room and sits down. She felt someone sit by her and looks over.
Draco smiles "Overheard what you said. Very fast on words I see. True Slytherin for sure."
Jo chuckles "Yeah. I suppose. But... I'm off to bed. I need to do a study and finally go to sleep."
"Already?"
"Yes. I like keeping myself sharp and prepared for everything. Night Draco." She stood up and heads to her bed. She gets into her pajamas and grabs her potions book. She opens it and begins studying.
