Change (A Purge Fanfiction)

Chapter 5

"Are, are you sure?" Violet stuttered. I stared into her eyes for a moment then hesitantly nodded.
"Well, we can't stay here forever, let's go."
"Al-alright." I mumbled. I stumbled up and grabbed the shotgun. We sauntered out, not knowing what to do next. As we passed the audience, I glanced over and saw all of them, dead. Some with blood pooling out of wounds, some just lying there. I quickly turned my head, not wanting to leave any more mental scars. We climbed into the SUV without saying a word. It was silent out, The Purge is never silent. Something is not right. I glance out the window and see nothing but smoke. I turn back to see Violet cocking her pistol. She see's me looking at her strange.
"Just in case" she mutters as she set down the gun and turned the key, the engine coughs and sputters.
"It won't turn over January." Suddenly I could smell gas.
"Vi, get out!" I scream as I launch myself out of the car and onto the pavement.
"Wh-" is all I hear before the SUV becomes engulfed in flames. I stare back at the car and see nothing but flames and charred metal.
"V!?, Vi?!" I scream horrified of what might have happened to her.
"Over here." a rough voice says that sounds nothing like my sisters. I trip over my own feet sprinting to the voice I heard. I peek around the charred rubble and see my a woman holding a knife to my sisters neck. My sister looks nothing like she had before, her flowing long blonde hair was now a short singed mop, her face was covered in blood, wait, it wasn't blood, the fire had burned through her skin. The woman holding her looked absolutely insane, her brown hair was everywhere on her face, her skin had been cut everywhere on her body and face.
"ITS MY FUCKING RIGHT! ITS MY RIGHT TO PURGE GIVEN TO ME BY MY GOVERNMENT!!" She yelped and then started laughing psychotically.
"Get away from my sister." I stated calmly as I aimed my pistol in line with her head. Her eyes widened as she went quiet. I aimed on last time, closed my eyes and pulled the trigger.
