THE (L/N)'S AND THE SATO'S WERE ALWAYS SO CLOSE FROM THE MOMENT THE PARENTS MET, AND THIS LEAD TO THEIR CHILDERN ALSO GETTING ALONG VERY WELL. Growing up the two were never too far apart from one another, either holding the other's hand or clinging onto the other, but it was mostly Kenji who would be the clinger and the hand holder (Y/N).
Her father, Hanzo had met the Sato's at a baseball match many years ago, and seeing they went for the same team that was playing, the fathers instantly became best friends. Just like how the children did. (Y/N)'s mother wasn't in the picture sadly, as her father had told her many stories of how brave she was, and how she was a hero to the citizens of Japan.
Growing up in a safe and protected environment, she didn't experience any troubles as Kenji was always there by her side to swoop in and save her. Not that she needed saving though. But learning that monsters, Kajiu's, were being defeated by her best friend's father wasn't news to her —not shocking.
Both kids already looked up to their parents as heroes, and that wouldn't change no matter what would happen in the years to come. She also learnt that her father was the tec person for Ultraman, who was Kenji's father, and from that day she was told, she knew she wanted to follow in her dad's footsteps.
This is when (Y/N)'s father started acting different, where he would shut her out from his studies and keep her in the dark for most parts of Ultraman. Even in her younger mind, she could tell something was wrong, and once again she figured that out when Emiko placed the girl on her lap, and held her close as she told her the story of, COSMOS.
Emiko told the young girl, who was beaming with joy hearing the name whom was an old hero who's powers were passed on for generations, and how the name came from space itself. Wonder filled her eyes that day listening to the stories, and how selfless Cosmos was, as she was unaware of the soft smile young Kenji was watching her with.
Kenji's parents, and her father all knew that eventually their children would end up together, and hopefully married eventually. Seen it through how he was fiercely protective of her, would do anything for her, and would sit there and listen to he rant about the space book he gave her for her fifth birthday.
Odaiba Japan was the place they were born and raised in, as both families lived in one house since of the monster acts, and how Mr. Sato felt better about having the (L/N)'s closer where he could protect them too. Yet, even with all the fun times during childhood, things turned south real quick.
" You were born for greatness, sweet girl," Hanzo would whisper to her every night before bed, tucking loose locks of her (H/C) hair that matched his, as he told her another story of Cosmos and how she saved their hometown from chaos with Ultraman.
