Before I introduce the characters, I would like to add that Eros is not my OC. He was made by one of my dearest friends, Theo, but I received full permission to use him in this story. Eros Nikolau, 22 years old. Although he can easily and unintentionally get lost in the crowd, one thing certainly stands out about him; his potential. Ever since he was a young boy, Eros would put his thoughts and feelings into writing. Poems, stories, or diary entries. His situation at home was unfortunate. Having a younger sister that would make fun of his shy personality all the time, an absent father and a deadbeat mother, his talent was heavily overlooked and ignored, being seen as "the poor, nerdy kid". However, he was never discouraged by the way people saw him or talked about him, and continued studying hard and supporting himself financially by working as a barista at the local café.
Eventually, he applied to Crestwood University. His thought process behind this decision was that the worst that can happen is he'd get rejected and would have to keep working at the job he loved. Really, what could possibly happen?
To his surprise, he got accepted with a scholarship for his impressive academic results. Ecstatic, he told his mother and sister, decision that turned out to bite him in the ass. Turns out that his sister, Anais, applied at the same college and got in as well, purely out of luck. She wasn't the brightest student, and she didn't have grades that would assure her spot at the university, but the person who got in before her refused the spot, making it available for her. And suddenly, Eros felt his world crumbling. The years of abuse he endured from her would continue, and his hopes of putting an end to it all were crushed. But why was he even surprised? His sister was always the luckiest person he had ever met. At one point he started believing that the universe was doing it all out of spite, or just for fun, simply to ruin his entire existence on this earth. Maybe he'd get luckier in the next one.
