After a well deserved summer break filled with parties, hangovers, late night conversations, vacations across the world and so on and so forth, the students and professors of Crestwood University have returned to their day to day schedule. In the blink of an eye, the empty and calm hallways from just a week ago became as busy as a beehive. There were new faces mixed in with the old ones, giving the professors new discussion subjects and people to keep their eyes on.
For some, today marked the beggining of a brand new and exciting chapter. Leaving their old lives behind, starting from this day, they will make new friends, live in an unfamiliar place with strangers, or perhaps alone, in the same old town of Crestwood. It was a very big deal for them, and one that would shape them into young adults and set the beggining of their journey to becoming new people.
For others, today was just another exhausting day at work or back to studying. The professors didn't exactly hate being here, but they weren't fond of waking up as early as 5AM to start their jobs. But hey, at least they get breaks as often as students do. And, thankfully, the principal made sure to have coffee ready for each and every one of them every morning.
As the minutes ticked by, the teacher's lounge filled up with the same old familiar faces everyone knew and either liked or not, with smiles and laughter and overall good vibes. Despite what a lot of people thought, the community of professors at Crestwood was so welcoming and friendly that it was almost impossible not to feel like you were part of a family around them. Of course, there were some exceptions, but they were very few wich made them basically insignificant.
Eros's POV
It just had to rain today out of all days, didn't it? God damn this weather, and this stupid situation I'm in, and my stupid sister, and my stupid, cursed, damned life that I have to live. Honestly, can it get any worse than it already is?!
I simply can't understand what I did in a different universe to deserve this bullshit. But whatever it is, Eros from another universe, I fucking hate you, dude.
The young boy was nearly running at that point, afraid that he would be late on his very first day of college. He was cursing under his breath while trying his absolute best to not get his books any more wet than they already were. Eros checked his watch: 08:55 am.
"Well, fuck me then. It wasn't like this morning was terrible enough. No, please, universe, throw more shit at me, will you?" He said outloud, and, not even a minute after he finished expressing his frustrations towards the universe, a car drove by, close enough to the sidewalk to splash Eros from head to toe. Instead of cursing more or throwing a fit, he simply sighed and kept walking towards the university. It was a few minutes away, but he would still end up being late. And wet. Soaking wet, actually. Oh, and with wet books. Seriously, he hated autumn for this specific reason. In fact, he hated a lot of things; autumn, rain, snow, his life, puddles, his life especially, and everything that had even a 0.0001% chance of causing him any unfortunate event. So, pretty much everything.
After an excruciating hour of walking to college in the ruthless rain, Eros had finally managed to make it there. 30 minutes after courses had began, but he made it nonetheless. His first stop was the principal's office since he had to get his schedule and excuse himself for being late, which wouldn't be much of a problem since he was, indeed, soaking wet.
Eros walked through the empty halls in search of the office, trying not to make too much noise simply because he didn't want to be noticed by anyone and simply crawl into a hole and die. But that wasn't possible, so he kept walking until he was met with a hanging sign next to a simple wooden door which read "Principal's office".
