With every step I took forward, I felt like I was going to step into some trouble by entering the voice in my mind. It phrased me that it was just me overthinking it, all the while my heart screaming that it's not fine. The gut feeling was so strong, my mind couldn't succeed in reassuring me.

For only my silly body knows why it's functioning like this. I'm so puzzled, and this quirky feeling, let's not even talk about that. It's like both my brain and heart are tangled in confusion for no reason. Ugh, this is so annoying.

The huge French-styled door opened with all the family members standing to welcome us. I visibly gulped with nervousness running through my veins.

Aunty sweetly smiled at us. I glanced at everyone present there and blinked my eyes rapidly. They all had a smiling face except some with a pissed-off look.

I lifted my heavy gown and walked inside despite the fact that aunty was saying something. I didn't pay any attention as I was lost in the beauty of the smell in this house.

Weird, I know, but I can't help it. It's just so nice. I'm over-exaggerating, y'all, to ignore the negative thoughts, but somehow and not very surprisingly, they drift back to that negative world solely.

"There's something, babhi," I moved my gaze at the source of sound. I raised my brow confused at Luke, Issac's younger brother. What does he mean by there's something and where?

"Here, near your lips," he gestured towards my lips. I widened my eyes. I believe I wiped the crumbs, but it wasn't wiped enough, I guess.

I quickly wiped it with my free hand. Fucker notices everything, reminds me of a freak who used to have a crush on me.

"Maa, she was hungry, so sh-" I cut him off before he could embarrass me.

"Haww no, aunty, he is lying. It was him who was hungry," I pleaded with my eyes aiming at Issac to not spill the truth.

"Issac beta, you could've come home, I would have prepared something," aunty replied.

"I said to him, aunty, that I'll make him something when we go home, but he didn't listen," I shrugged off one more lie.

He looked at me in utter disbelief. And a 'are you serious look?' It was just to not embarrass myself at the first meet with some humans.

After showing me all around the mansion, every room was elegantly designed, but it just didn't catch my eyes. There was an odd feeling disturbing me.

As soon as I entered his room, my eyes fell on the big king-sized bed which was decorated with rose petals. What's the use of decorating the bed with rose petals when my life is not? There were candles lit on the side table.

The warm and inviting vanilla scent hit my nostrils, making me go at peace, accompanied by my mind and heart calming a little, like some magic.

The walls were painted in a creamish white color. There was a vintage wall clock with some decorative items here and there. I glanced at the light beige sleek sectional couch present in the corner of the room, tying a comfy atmosphere.

I entered the large closet area. There were many accessories organized, the shelves were flooded with his manly attires.

My eyes fell on the iron hanging rods which were on the floor. I wonder what it's doing here. I shook my head before the image of something else ruins my mood than it already is.

My suitcase was also present. With all the energy left in me, I bent over and opened it to change into a new set of clothes.

After I was done changing, I removed my makeup and entered the washroom to wash my face. It was like the same typical lavish washroom, the tiles were gray, the rainfall showerhead with a sleek glass door, and a bathtub.

I looked at myself in the mirror present in the bathroom. I felt pretty until my gaze fell on the small pimple growing near my cheeks, insecurity creeping my skin.

I washed my face before every negative thought impeded me. I tied my hair in a ponytail and walked over to the bed to sleep.

I scrolled through reels as sleep was not even close to coming. My mind pondered on the thought, where might Issac be at this hour?

And boom, as if some type of telepathy happened, the door swung open revealing him in all his mercy.

I didn't go through the bother of getting up from my position. I didn't feel like going through the trouble, as this idiot married me.

He took long strides on the left side of the bed as I occupied the other one. He lay beside me. I rolled my eyes and swiftly sat up. I sarcastically smiled at him and took the extra three pillows, creating a wall.

"This pillow wall will be present here until one week," I made myself clear.

"And why is that?" he asks, so many dumb questions.

"Cus I said so," I snapped back.

"I'm not some creep to do things with you, Shanaya," he rolled his eyes, placing both of his hands behind his head.

"We are married and as far as I know, this is a ritual between newlywed couples, and especially the arranged marriage ones," I vocalized my point of view, coming up with some bullsh*t of overthinking.

He blinked his eyes, nodding, still processing everything I said. His face made me want to laugh out so hard right now.

I wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and the sun rays hitting my face, escaping from the window.

After blankly staring at the wall for I don't know how many minutes, I finally go and do my morning business.

Subsequently, I wore a white kurti embroidered with intricate designs in pink thread with a pink dupatta and some light jewelry to add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the outfit. Lastly, to complete my look, I did a hint of light makeup.

Now? I glanced at him, doubting if I should wake him up or not.

I took a deep breath and tapped his shoulders gently. When he didn't move an inch, I nudged him with my elbow. When he didn't wake up with that either, I poured the water from the glass which was on the side table without a second thought.

With a jolt, he woke up with a shock feature on his face. He mumbled some curse words under his breath. I blankly looked at him like a robot because that's what I was feeling now.

His eyes stuck on my face, his pupils not moving an inch. I bet I'm looking so good that he can't take his eyes off me.

I hit his shoulder, bringing him out of his admiring world.

"What?" he groaned, wiping the water from his face.

"What do I do?" I asked monotonously.

"You go and jump off the building, okay," he sarcastically replied back, which only made me roll my eyes.

Why are humans so annoying? Why were they even created? I internally groaned.
