Do I really need to go to school today? I bet the first day of school shouldn't really matter so I don't think I need to get up so early.
But there I was, waiting for the school bus at 6:30 a.m in the cold morning. This year, I promised myself I would be a good student for a change. Yet, I don't think a new me would be able to forget the past, the student body even more so, knowing that I have been called the-
"Adair the Demon."
I turn my head to look at the scoundrel who interrupted my thoughts with that resentful name.
"Oh it's just you Keith," I said, shaking off my temper. Keith is a butt face that I used to beat up occasionally because he deserved it. But I'm a new person today so I don't need to deal with him.
".....Keith? Did someone upset the poor tiger while I was away?" He asks. Someone help me before I pull his stupid black hair, I thought before I glared at him.
"No," I said in the lowest voice possible."I just wanted to this start this year fresh so leave me be."
"Fresh year! Ha! I think you just made my day Calico," He snorts."But I must say, the view from your lifted skirt is really something." I quickly look down, pulling my skirt against the wind, remembering that I had shorts underneath it.
I yank Keith's blue collar, pulling his face down to meet my height.
"You always know how to tick me off, you cheeky bastard," I growled, feeling the heated embarrassment run across my face.
"I thought we were turning a new leaf," He says, his lip twisted in a smirk.
"Why do you want me to shred that turd face of yours so early in the morning?" I asked, pinching his cheeks before I release him.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm looking for a fight with the legendary Adair the Demon," He clearly states, rubbing on his face. Before I could say anything back, the bus arrives and I rush to get on first, sticking my tongue out at him as I do a turn. As I hear him laugh behind me, I walk to the back of the bus, where that place was always empty when I appear.
But as I sit down to wait for my best friend, I look around the bus to view my classmates talk about their time spent in summer vacation. I'm not the type to brag about my summer since I only had spent it at home while Evelyn was away.
Knowing full well that its a forty minute ride to school, I place my backpack on the seat to rest my head on, dozing off.
I don't remember when I started fighting but the neighborhood kids were always the type to make trouble. I just happen to hang around with them when my parents were off at work...and then I let things get out of hand when I went to middle school. Well, it wasn't my fault that there were so many gangs in the area and there were so many defenseless people that I just couldn't help but stand up for. Damn, I wonder how school life would've been if I wasn't such a maniac. Now I'm called Adair the Demon or the man-shredding Tiger. If it weren't for Evelyn, I probably would have moved schools by now.
When the bus finally stops in the front of the school, the students just rush out of the bus. After checking the back of my skirt, I rush to the school's doors to get away from the cold morning. As I push the doors open, I'm pushed into the crowd that seemed to huddle up in front of the board. Struggling to find a way out, I stumbled and fall onto someone, grabbing hold of their arm in the process. I look up to see the person's turned head, his face twisted with fear.
"Adair the Demon," He states, pulling his arm back as the others behind him start to notice. Dammit, I wish I could just-
"Calico!"
