After the harrowing incident at the airport, Engfa felt an overwhelming need to protect Charlotte. She had always seen Mr. Nawat, the CEO of the Miss Grand Organization, as a father figure, someone who genuinely cared for her and the other contestants. She decided to seek his help in controlling the situation with the fans and to find a way to protect Charlotte.
Engfa walked into Mr. Nawat's office, her mind racing with thoughts on how to approach the sensitive issue. She was greeted by Mr. Nawat's warm smile, but there was a glint in his eye that she hadn't noticed before.
"Engfa, my dear," Mr. Nawat greeted her warmly. "To what do I owe this visit?"
"Mr. Nawat," Engfa began, taking a seat across from him. "I need your help. Charlotte is being harassed by our fans. They attacked her at the airport, and it's tearing her apart. We need to do something to protect her."
Mr. Nawat leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled in front of him. "I heard about the incident," he said slowly. "It's indeed unfortunate. But, Engfa, you have to understand that controversy like this can be... profitable."
Engfa's eyes widened in shock. "Profitable? Charlotte is suffering, and you're thinking about profits?"
Mr. Nawat sighed, a patronizing tone creeping into his voice. "Engfa, this is a business. The more attention we get, the more revenue we generate. We can use this situation to our advantage. Charlotte losing her memory, the fans' reactions, it all creates a compelling story. We can craft a narrative that will draw even more interest."
Engfa felt a cold shiver run down her spine. "You want to exploit her pain for money? I thought you cared about us."
"I do care, Engfa," Mr. Nawat replied, his tone softening slightly. "But caring and business are two different things. We can help Charlotte while also boosting our brand. Imagine the headlines: 'Miss Grand's Courageous Comeback.' It will bring in more sponsorships, more viewers."
Engfa stood up, her face flushed with anger. "This isn't about a comeback. This is about a human being who is in pain. If you won't help her out of genuine concern, then I will find another way."
Mr. Nawat's expression hardened. "Engfa, be careful. You're treading on dangerous ground. Remember who gave you this platform."
Engfa stared at him, feeling a deep sense of betrayal. "I used to look up to you," she said quietly. "But now, all I see is someone who cares more about money than the well-being of the people under his care."
With that, she turned and walked out of the office, her resolve strengthening with each step. She needed to protect Charlotte, and she would do it without Mr. Nawat's help.
Back at the apartment, Charlotte was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. Aoom and Meena were trying to distract her, but it was clear that her mind was elsewhere.
Engfa walked in, her face a mixture of determination and frustration. Aoom looked up, sensing the tension. "Engfa, what happened?"
"Mr. Nawat won't help us," Engfa said bluntly. "He wants to use Charlotte's situation to make more money."
