"Thanks again for bringing our daughter home for us, Kilmister."
Jimu says as he walked Shaji to the front door, patting him on the back as he helped the younger man carry a few of the planks he had just given him.
Shaji turns his head towards the older man, a small smile forming on his face as he gives the older man a nod.
"All in a day's work, sir."
Sure, he was covered from head to toe in soot again, and probably had a few fractures and burns scattered across his body, but all in all, Shaji enjoyed his time with Mei.
A soft chuckle escapes Jimu's lips, the man patting Shaji on the back again with a little more force.
"Cut out the 'sir' act already. I told you, you can just call me Jimu."
He chuckles a little more, before trailing off with a sigh.
"You're a good kid, Kilmister. Keep it up, alright?"
Shaji smiles a little more at Jimu's words, his star-shaped pupils quite literally twinkling as he gives an affirmative nod.
At the nod, Jimu smiles, stopping at the doorway. He passes the few planks he was helping to carry to Shaji, before looking up at the cloudy night sky, the light of the moon barely illuminating past the clouds.
Jimu frowns a little, and quickly looks down at his watch to check the time, before looking up at Shaji with a concerned look in his eyes.
"It's getting close to midnight, want me to give you a ride home in the ol' pickup?"
At that, Shaji shakes his head, a reassuring smile forming on his face as he waves the Jimu's concern away.
"I think I'll be fine. Thank you for the concern though."
In reality, Shaji was panicking at the thought of riding in that rust bucket. It looked like something out of Mad Max, the frame left to rust near the sea. The explosive markings on it made him assume that the sea was that of Waterworld.
At the boy's refusal, Jimu sighs, and leans against the doorway with a hesitant, but understanding, gaze.
"Alright, if you say so. You should get going then, it's nearly midnight."
Shaji nods, and after adjusting his grip on the large bag he had been given to carry the planks.
"I will, Jimu. Take care."
With a quick bow, he turns away from the door, and begins walking off into the night. He turns around, catching sight of Jimu waving goodbye, and quickly waves back before looking forward.
He breathes a sigh, looking up at the cloudy night sky with a bright smile. He could feel the planks of wood clanking about inside the bag with every step he took, and it only made his smile grow wider.
He finally had what he needed to put his plan into motion. Sure, the planks were delivered by plane, which was something Shaji despised, but with how much he needed to budget to ensure the allowance Nezu had given him would last the month, he could overlook such an undesirable transportation method.
All he needed now was to get back to U.A, and use the Development Studio to make himself an acoustic guitar to start busking around the streets.
Looks like things were starting to look up for him. Hopefully, nothing will go wrong now.
